there's little differences between this and Kelloggs, taste close enough to the regular. for the price, i will definitely buy this over Kelloggs 9 out of 10 times. living during this era can be hard nowadays, i don't mind buying cheaper to help with my budget situation.

Best Option for taste and $

Patricia December 8, 2025

I grew up on the original cornflakes. It was a special treat on Saturday morning while watching cartoons. I now use it strictly as breading for my homemade fish sticks. Dip fish in egg and roll it in crushed cornflakes and fry in butter. Squeeze of lemon juice and serve with my homemade tartar sauce. Yummy but I don't have it frequently because of the butter but it is one of my favorite meals. This product tastes as good as all the competition but more affordable.

Great Value Corn Flakes

Me February 20, 2026

Some flakes are lumps. You can tell they either got wet and dried or were baked incorrectly. I realize Great Value is literally odd lots from manufacturing errors, but the quality control should be better. Worst part is the sugar loaded cereal is cheaper than the one without which is purely corporate greed and not reflective of the price of purchase from the company that makes them by Walmart. Also, every so many bowls I will get a REALLY hard one that feels like it could crack a tooth. I actively look for those before I add my nutritional shake into this as I cannot drink milk. Otherwise, they are on par with any store brand, plain, corn flakes and are inexpensive. they taste good and are good for you.

Some rock hard bits of corn are a tooth hazard

James April 21, 2026

My first bowl contained a very hard tooth cracking little conglomerated corn nut. The cereal sat soaking in milk for over one minute first. Be careful if you have older or fragile teeth. Tastes OK, size of flakes uniform but smaller than average. Good price if the quality control is there, bad deal if you damage a tooth. I had the same problem with Walmart's version of honey bunches of oats. So have other reviewers. You can't see the hardened clump, you find it by biting into it.

Quality Changed

Chemene April 29, 2026

I have purchased this item before. But the quality is different than the last time I purchased. The expiration date is almost a year away but has a stale quality, tougher texture and flavor is different than the last time I purchased this cereal. Wonder if there are different factories where these are made. Variations between the factories? Not sure if I will purchase again or not.

I don't recommend

Henry May 1, 2026

The flavor is good and rivals the name brand. But, I was disappointed to find an abundance flakes in my single bowl that were so hard it felt as if they could chip a tooth. Although the value is good, the hard flakes equate to a 1 star rating for quality.

For the birds...literally!

Joseph April 16, 2026

Ok. So I thought I was getting this phenomenal deal. A huge box of corn flakes for a decent price! I couldn't have been more wrong. What you're going to get is a a HALF of a bag of "flakes" inside a REALLY BIG box. Half the box is just ...air! Save on the cardboard and fill up the bag! And just when I thought it couldn't possibly get worse, I ate spoonful. I can't quite describe the texture, nor do I care to remember it. There were were "lumpy flakes"- sections that seemed as if the corn hadn't been pureed well enough or whatever they do to it to make it into "corn flakes". Anyhow, if your using it as a binder for meatloaf, it's acceptable, but to eat as a breakfast? Nope. Not even close. I found out you can use it as wild bird food after I threw it out the back door. At least the crows liked it.

So awful

Lila January 8, 2026

I've been having a lot of luck with generic lately thar I'd thought give these a try. There's such a huge difference in price that I thought it was worth a shot. WRONG.Awful. Just awful. These seriously taste like there's plastic in them -in taste AND in texture. I don't know how a company can fail at making corn flakes but wow.

Store brand - WORST CORN FLAKES ever.....

maxx December 5, 2025

I had bought other stores 'brand name' corn flakes - because face it, it's HARD to screw up a corn flake....well I was shocked at how terrible Walmarts store brand of plain corn flakes was. They had no taste what so ever, no crunch = almost like they were stale or VERY OLD - honestly they tasted like little pieces of bland soft card board. Has to throw them in the trash...Yesterday I spent the extra $$ and got me some Kellog's Corn Flakes....I'm going to try to get my money back = it was only a few dollars but groceries are so expensive, every $$ counts.
