Great Price! Great Taste!

DepDad December 28, 2025

The Great Value Tomato Puree has a very good taste. We use it in our chili and spaghetti recipes. The price and size are perfect. I recommend this over the name brands. It's just as good or better, and the price is less than what you would pay for the name brands.

Yummy tomato flavor -- unseasoned.

Jen May 4, 2026

This puree is very tomato"y" but not spicy or seasoned. You basically season it yourself. Perfect for me because I can no longer eat all spices like garlic, basil and oregano. Nice rich flavor and not thin. I made spaghetti sauce with this and some tomato paste. Tasted awesome on my stuffed shells. Very happy!

Easier than growing your own tomatoes

Elizabeth March 27, 2026

I was not looking for spice, so not sure why they asked. For use in recipes this is a good product. Ease of use %26 appears to be good quality.

One ingredient

bea2171 October 13, 2016

For those of you that buy "tomato sauce", have you ever read the label of ingredients? The only ingredient in tomato puree is tomatoes. You can season it any way you like without all of the jarred sauce fillers.

The BEST Tomato Puree!

Scooby321 October 18, 2014

I use this puree for pizza sauce and tomato sauce recipes. It's thicker than every puree I've used (and I've used nearly all of them!), and it doesn't have added salt. It's also priced right. I highly recommend this tomato puree.

Great Value tomato puree, yum!

Peter March 9, 2026

I live on a pretty tight budget since retirement kicked in a few years ago. Don't get me wrong, I do NOT miss working for the man one iota! I love, love, love being retired. My career was a long, satisfying slog from the 1970s to 2020. That being said, you save money wherever you can; it really is a daily challenge. The Great Value brand, in and of itself, is a boon to saving on basic staples for cooking. Great Value tomato puree is a low-sodium way to really streeeeeetttccchhhhh out your pasta sauces. Add a can of Great Value tomato paste to the works, along with some old spice containers way back in your cupboard, and you've got yourself a meal and a bargain to boot. LG, baby!

Corrosion INSIDE the can!!!

John July 23, 2026

Upon mixing this product with all the ingredients I noticed this corrosion in the bottom of the can. It's attached to the surface of the can and doesn't scratch off. I think it corrosion. Out of health concerns I was forced to throw the entire pot of sauce away. I'm on a fixed budget and I can't afford to throw away food. I intend to pursue this matter further.

Cans damaged in shipping.

Debra April 12, 2025

The cans were delivered in a huge plastic mailing bag. all the cans were dented and 6 were dented enough that I do not thing they are safe to store for future use. I have included a picture ( they were not delivered in the box pictured) Shipping these cans in a box may have prevented the large dents in cans.

Disappointed

anonymous April 25, 2025

I ordered 6 cans of tomato puree. Every single can was dented. I did not order scratch and dent. I ordered good product and got scratch and dent. Very very disappointed with this
