(6 pack) Great Value Tomato Sauce, 29 Oz

It is basic tomato sauce. No real "flavor", but that is the point. You add your own spices and other ingredients to make it what you want it to be. Secret tip, add regular sugar and some citric acid powder to make it taste much sweeter. The citric acid powder is a canning ingredient, I use Mrs. Wages citric acid, it is in the canning section or in baking.

Food doesn't always have to be expensive to be good! But that is only my opinion. I buy mostly Walmart brand food stuff and doing this stretches my SS check to last me all month. This helps me feel good about myself that I can still run my home and checking account on my own, at 76 years old. Thank you, Walmart!

Not a super gourmet flavor, however; I use it as part of a recipe like tomato basil soup or picadilo along with fresh tomatoes to give it a little more body. Anything where I really want the tomato flavor itself to stand out I would use fresh tomatoes period. There are definitely better flavored brands out there. once again for anything I would be making with tomatoes at the price those brands charge I would certainly take the extra time and use fresh tomatoes. Save a lot of money, and get an even better flavor. This is the perfect kind of sauce. However, if you're gonna make your own Pizza sauce or other sauces, you intend to season.

I am very impressed with this Wal Mart brand tomato sauce. It has a smooth, high quality, fancy restaurant flavor which I was not expecting. Flavorful and delicious. I even use it in my magic bullet with a little water, sea salt, Tony's original creole seasoning and organic garlic powder to make a yummy tomato juice. Affordable prices with Wal Mart brands BUT sometimes the quality can/will fool you...such as the case here and with other Wal Mart brand products. A lot for your money too.

Great value tomato sauce it was thick and red tasty I made my version of Mexican rice for a family event and it kept my rice bright and flavorful the entire afternoon people enjoyed it I'll buy it again soon

Half the price of the name brands and doesn't have all the sugar, salt and other crap. Not all thick and pasty. Clean tomato taste. I just spice it up to my liking and good to go.

smooth, good consistency, good taste with just a touch of salt; great to add for Italian pasta dishes, especially when simmered all day. YUM Of course, I need to add the onions, green peppers, garlic, Italian seasoning, etc. but the sauce is excellent when patience and time are taken. One negative is jump in price

I was making chili..the recipe called for tomato sauce so I picked up Great Value tomato sauce...one is just as good as the other, right? In this case yes, it is. The GV tomato sauce wasn't all water..it actually has some "meat" behind it. (Disclaimer: there is no actual meat in this tomato sauce) The chili turned out great (of course, I am a little biased--I cooked it) Save yourselves a few pennies and trust GV!

They were left in wrong place and the cans were put on top of donuts and honey buns so they got mashed to crumbs. That wasn't driver…that was the packers responsibility. How could you not know putting them in with cans would be a mistake?….bad mistake.

Did not receive items, but they are marked as received. Would like free shipping to correct the error. Also, I thought this order was to go to the Dave Lyle location. I went there first, only to be told to go home and check the order number for the location. It was very inconvenient to say the least. For a between 4-5 pm pick up, I did not get back home with the order until 7:30 pm with many items not available. Please ship me these additional items free of charge and no shipping, as I already was charged for them. Thank you!
