Per my taste buds, 55% or 72% Swiss dark chocolate is ideal. A higher concentration and it's too rich or not sweet enough. Sam's choice is the only brand of chocolate bars i eat after finding out years ago that Hershey's semi sweet dark chocolate bars have the highest cadmium levels. All chocolate isn't the same. Just like all men, women are the same.
I am a chocolate snob of the highest order and I love this chocolate. I've sampled many high end chocolate brands and I can say with certainty that this is outstanding Swiss made chocolate. Intense flavor and that super smooth texture that the best European chocolate is known for. Except it's even better than the production brands like Lindt. This stuff beats Lindt hands down. Huge flavor that just hangs there. Highly recommended. I buy bars and bars of it at a time.
This is my favorite "go-to" chocolate now that I'm dealing with dairy-intolerance, and I have immense appreciation for whoever made the call not to include ANY dairy ingredients, though traces of milk remain possible. I do feel awkward spending $2 per bar of chocolate when I'm used to buying my chocolate in bulk during holiday clearance, but $2 is a reasonable price for a chocolate bar, and very affordable considering most officially "dairy-free" options cost $4/bar or more... course, those don't have traces of dairy, but I'm merely dairy-intolerant, not allergic. It's plenty yummy. It meets my chocolate cravings. It's not as creamy as milk chocolate, but it's one of the smoother dairy-free chocolates I've tried, and I would still happily eat it even if dairy-based chocolates were still an option for me.
I was craving chocolate but didn't want a whole bag of cookies or a cake in the house. While browsing I found this gem. Rich, full chocolate with a gorgeous feel as it melts in your mouth. The perfect amount of cacao so it's not too much milk or sugar yet not bitter like the intense levels. This is saved as a favorite and I have already checked for other Sam's Choice options like caramel or sea salt. Really a treat without making my piggy bank skinny.
This chocolate is so rich in flavor I don't need to eat more than one piece to satisfy my craving. It is a tiny bit bitter like it's supposed to. It's mostly fat and chocolate, very little carbs. If you get a bar that's greyish white, it means it has "bloom". That means it had melted and then cooled. That's harmless. I even use this for baking, hot chocolate drink, and fudge sauce or fudge candy. Even frosting. After eating this, I can't stand eating milk chocolate anymore.
please do not replace with a different chocolate bar
The chocolate is made in Switzerland so what more can you ask for instead of buying name brand without a name brand price …. It's delicious and rich in flavor …
I will admit that I am a "CHOCOHOLIC". This is a very good brand of chocolate and no guilt because it is healthy with oxidants. It is smooth and the flavor is AMAZING! YUMMY!!
Awful. I do Not recommend this product. My shipments of milk and dark chocolate both went into the garbage after eating just a square and offering to another chocolate lover in the house who had just one more square of each. Neither of us could feel very guilty about pitching ~ it was that bad ! A true first tossing away candy!! The milk version was not creamy, soft, particularly sweet, or cacao tasting. Obviously the dark was even less sweet, bitter, harder. Both looked like shiny waxy brown laxative instead of chocolate. Even though you don't get much and it is thin, it was hard to bite into . . . like wax. Even cheap chocolate TRIES to resemble Chocolate - but this wasn't even budget priced (nor eXpensive). Taking these as a loss - not returning/not asking for refund but Very Surprised, Very Dissatisfied and Disappointed.
Chocolate bar is discolored, broken and has strange holes throughout it. Item is not edible. Tried to add a photo multiple times but will not add. Just brings me back to have to rewrite the review all over again.
