I bought these for my epileptic cat who hates car rides and stress cries the whole time she's in the car. We had to move and she was going to have to be locked up for a few hours while the movers got our stuff out of the house which we all know locking your cat in a room without you is a sin against cat-kind everywhere. I gave her one treat for the lock up time and one about 20 min before the car ride. I give it 5 stars because in the 13 years I've loved this cat she has never been so at ease for either of those situations. She made barely a ruckus being locked up in the bedroom and she didn't make a peep during the entire car ride which was just about 2 hours. I would recommend these highly! The cat in question below.
these work very well and quickly. great to help destress cats when things are different, hectic, even before medicine. we had an outside cat get lost a couple of miles from her home, she come to our door and ofcourse hungry. one of these and we were able to get her boxed and in the car giving her a ride home to her kittens. she was so thankful. we have a lynx point Siamese rescued from outside life at almost 1 year old. she's a little bit cautious and scaredy cat. these help her alot whenever she might be more anxious. tuxedo cat will eat hers too if not careful, she loves them. tuxedo cat is true to description that she does get an attitude occasionally and overly possessive/protective around new people or long visitors, these help with that as well.
The answer to my prayers! A feral cat has been in my neighborhood for almost 2 years and no one has been able to get near it and has been a bit aggressive toward wildlife animals. I trapped her and had her spayed, picked her up at the vets office to release her and was mortified when told I must keep her inside for two weeks! She screamed to go out. Tried getting out windows, etc. Purchased these bites, gave half the dose in her food and now I have a sweet loving cat. I'm not allowed to pick her up but can pet her, rub her body and is very loving and playful. Zero side effects.
The treats are great for older cats. My cat has had anxiety from moving to an apartment. She has been getting into cabinets and up on the kitchen cabinets where there is a space. Now she goes to sleep after getting the treats. Trouble is I have to by a larger bag to last all month.
Both of my cats love these! They both were so cuddly and purring and relaxing afterward. I feel like they lasted a couple hours to the effects of the treats. I also cut the treats in half which was super easy. You can also grind it down into a fine powder to put in their food if you want or like as a topper. If you have a stressed out or an anxious kitty, I feel like these are very healing. I definitely recommend these. Give them a shot at least.
Long story short; these work! I bought these after taking my two year old cat to the vet for symptoms of FIC, the guess of the cause was stress from seeing a feral cat we had been feeding at our back door everyday. he's a pretty calm cat already, but I did notice he was able to see the cat with no reaction after giving him one of these treats. he will not eat them on their own (which is to be expected with a treat like this), so I did like other reviews said and cut it up and mixed it onto wet food. Sometimes he is able to avoid the bits if they are big enough, so I i make sure to chop it up very fine and dilute it with enough wet food. I've only ever given him one treat at a time, which is half the dose for his weight, so I'm impressed! if you are looking for a product like this I would definitely give it a try!
I don't believe there was a problem with the product. It's that one out of four cats ate it so I will just mix it in their food and see how it works as they got older they don't care for treats as much as they do their food
The product itself is probably great, but Zesty paws really needs to change their packaging, i mean't to get the gut health treats. i searched hairball treats on the app and since i have bought the gut health treats multiple time so you would think it would show me that one first right? wrong! for some reason they showed me the behavior treats first even though i specified i wanted the gut health treats, but nope they show me treats that aren't related to my search and i have never bought the behavior treats until now by accident. the behavior treats and gut health treats bags look pretty much exatcly the same. they are both orange bags but the only difference is the color of the bubble. on the behavior treats the bubble is teal and the gut health the bubble is green. The employees can't tell the difference either, on a seperate trip the Behavior treats were put in the spot where the gut health treats are supposed to be and there were 4 gut health treats behind them and i can't imagine being yellow-blue colorblind trying to figure out which one is which at a glance because with yellow-blue colorblindness they look EXACTLY the same! yellow-blue colorblindness is nothing new and the fact that the only difference is a tiny bubble on the bag is a bit ridiculous. i don't even know what to do with these treats now because my cat needs the gut health treats, she doesn't need the behavior treats because there are no issues with my cat's behavior. i'm going to have to contact zesty paws about this packaging design issue and include a picture showing how they look to someone who is yellow-blue colorblind. Now that i have purchased this once, walmart is going to think i want this again when the purchase was a mistake. I included photos to show what i am talking about
Every one of cats would not eat them. I even tried mixing it with their other treats. I understand why, they stink like vitamins. I would not recommend them and don't waste your money trying them.
I have 5 cats , 2 are new to the bunch one of which is skittish and scared but after patience and a calming collar he came around however the baby of the bunch thinks he's 20 feet tall and started bullying which in turn got this one “ spraying “ yes he is neutered. The kids are separated now bought these trying them for multiple reasons . 4 out of the 4 I tried won't touch it . Gave one to the dog to see how bad it was , nope he spit that thing out. It's a very very strong herbal odor - don't bother unless you hide it in something else
