Great addition to my freezing garage
It was very easy to setup Wi-Fi and the remote temperature. At first, I did not look close enough at the video and pressed Wi-Fi again to pair the remote temperature and disconnected the unit. Pressing the correct button worked well. Got it in too late for this year and will get more use of it Fall/Winter. It seems to heat well.
Arrived timely and securely packaged. Had electrician install in a glassed in 500 sq ft deck with insulated floor and ceiling which is usually in the low 50's in the am. The heater brings the temp up to 65 within 45 minutes, Had slight difficulty pairing with the remote thermostat which customer service promptly fixed. That thermostat is definitely necessary. Good looking, well designed, and unobtrusive.
I hired an electrician who installed the unit and ran 240 VAC. The ran flawlessly and connected to my Wi-Fi and remote sensor without problems. I maintain 45 degrees when the garage is unoccupied, and 60 when i am working in the garage. The heater is working as expected and very pleased with the results so far.
This heater was exactly what my husband needed to heat his work space in the garage. He is ready for cold weather now!!!
I was looking to heat my 720sf garage/work shop with 9' ceiling. This little heater fit the bill, have had it about a month in CNY and it keeps it at a nice working temperature even on a few sub zero days. My only complaint is that it is to far from my wifi to connect, and not willing to use my phone as a hotspot. So far this seems to be a great product.
I ordered the Heat Storm on line on a Black Friday deal. I had seen some good YouTube videos about this Heat Storm but when the heater arrived at my house I was very skeptical that this little heater could heat my 524 square ft garage. I went ahead and installed the unit not really expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and well it heated up the space. I do have an insulated garage and the doors are insulated as well.. The outside temp was about 40 degrees so not the biggest challenge. I look forward to trying it out as the temperature colder to really see what it can do.
The heater was easy to install, but I am a jack of all trades. If you have an outlet, it's easier, but I chose to run romex from the heater to my circuit breaker. Works well with the external thermostat, I can't say much for the internal one, but of course it's too close to the heat output. I would really find the app useful if it would give me run times as I have it on schedules and would like to know how much it runs to keep my shop at the set temp.
I love the Wi-Fi feature I haven't installed in my outside shop so I can control it from my living room which is nice. It works pretty good it's not that loud it does have a blower so you have to expect noise. The only problem is it's in the corner of the room and the thermostat is on the unit so it does not heat evenly because it shuts off prematurely due to the fact that corner of the room is warm. I installed the ceiling fan hoping to move the heat around I wish it had a separate thermostat you could mount on the wall.
I bought this with high expectations of a garage heating solution. Honestly the unit itself is of good quality and relatively easy to install if you have an electrical background and are mechanically inclined. I made the mistake of putting it too far away from my work area so the heat doesn't reach anywhere near as far as I originally thought for a 20 by 20 2 car garage. I'm on the fence whether to return it for a bigger unit with a more powerful fan, to add a circulator fan to push the heat further, or to completely relocate the unit right over my desired work area. Again I think the unit is ok, but for 300 dollars, I was expecting more heat flow. Havnt yet seen a bill to verify the usage costs.
