6FT USB CABLES TO GO TO DB25 IEEE-1284 PARALLEL PRINTER ADAP CBL

I purchased this cable to hook up an old HP 2100 laser printer to my Windows XP computer. It worked perfectly as soon as I plugged it in. Windows recognized the printer and installed all the necessary drivers. It couldn't be easier. This cable is well made and performs exactly as advertised without any problems.

Package says only Windows, but I plugged in and ran on Ubuntu 9.10. Product works right out of the box without any driver install. (Working with an HP DeskJet 870Cse previously installed as a network printer.)

Connects from usb to existing parallel printer cable. The cable installed on my new Windows 7 computer with no problem. The only glitch was finding a driver for my old HP Laserjet 4P. HP support site said it was available within Windows 7, but this printer was not listed. Wound up using the Windows driver for a Laserjet 5200, PCL series 5, and that seems to work OK so far.

PRO - The product was PERFECT for what I needed - and the PRICE couldn't be beat. CON - It wasn't available at the local Walmart & it took about a week for it to arrive @ the local store. Still, as I DID NOT need the cable IMMEDIATELY, it was still a great deal, all things considered. I was able to connect an old, "legacy" printer [Win 95 era] to a new, [Windows 7] machine & get it to work FINE, for which I got the cable. The local STAPLES wanted about $40 for this component; the local Best Buy was 'asking' about $30 for it: Walmart on-line got it to me for LESS THAN $10 - the only 'catch' was that I had to wait about a week - and I'll take that type of deal ANYTIME!

This adapter did the trick. I have an old HP LaserJet 4000n which I couldn't connect to my new Windows 10 desktop. Printer had only the old 25 pin printer cable, so I needed the USB adapter. Also didn't know if I'd have trouble with a printer driver since it's so old. But the cable worked out fine - I just plugged it in and it automatically installed. Works beautifully!

Great product allowed me to use my very old laser jet printer with my new windows 7 system. Saved on a new printer and didn't have to throw the old laser in the trash. You wont be sorry.

I couldn't find a driver for the LJ-4L with WIN-7. But when I plugged in the cable from printer to laptop, it went out (on internet) and found its own driver.

Works great, as advertised. I connected an old Laserjet 1100 to my computer to get a little more life out of it. $10 is a great price for this.

The usb port on my printer went out... my coumputer did not have a parallel port... this fixed the problem immediately

The picture of the cable I ordered did not match the cable I got. I will need to go to a Walmart Store and get a credit or exchange.
