I am pleasantly surprised with with drive. Despite not being an SSD, read and write speeds during file backups are consistently around 800 megabits (aka 100 megabytes) per second. Backing up 1 TB of data took only 3-4 hours. It's not power-intensive, as I can connect it through a hub which can't power other models. The USB Micro-B wire is a tight fit into the port / can be difficult to remove, so plan on taking the cord with the drive.
When you purchase from Walmart online check your area stores. The item price varied by $40.00 between stores. When I made the purchase I wanted to pick up in the store. Web page would only allow delivery. Needed a replacement backup drive. Works as intended.
I've had a WD 1TB EHD for about 15 years and have never had a problem with it. When I got my Tablo, I was glad to know that WD is compatible with it. So, that's why I got one and their 6TB was a better bargain than all the other places I searched.
Great capacity for price and doesn't sacrifice speed or integrity for storage. SSD's are over rated; try this one, the form factor will fit your existing equipment and perform primary storage or backup.
I use this drive as a movie drive for my TV. It is AWESOME! I have thousands of movies plugged in to my TV and I play movies all night while I sleep. (helps me sleep better since I had a stroke and don't dream anymore)
This drive offers a lot of storage for the money. It's perfect for backing up photos, videos, and documents, and it has handled my large files without issue. The speed is a bit slower than high‑end options, so gamers or heavy performance users may want to look elsewhere, but for general data backup, it's a strong value.
It's mentioned USB C cable / adapter included but when package open it's USB regular cable and no USB C cable adapter inside the small package . Now I m not tech savvy but I don't know what I got . I may be get older version .. all looks same from outside and I purchased it by readying item information .
The item received looked like a Western Digital My Passport hdd but its box is suspiciously labeled "WD Drive", a model which cannot be found in any other reputable retailers. Transfer speed for photos is exceedingly slow. I returned it.
Deleted over 1.3TBs of my backup storage out of the blue I plugged it in and all the folders were there but every single one was empty. Please dont buy this drive it has honestly ruined my digital life everything ive ever had is gone I should have never transferred everything to a single drive. this is the worst mistake of my life I never would have thought a drive would fail like this. not even corrupting the data but just shadow deleting it all. I can't belive it ill never be able to rebuild what has been lost.
Wall mart puts no additional padding around your new hdd This means wall mart doesn't care about your data or happiness Hdd's work but its like pouring water down the back of a new tv before the consumer gets it or pouring sand in a new car engine before it leaves the car lot. If i was not desperate for Hdds i would not buy from wall mart. order came on time in a thin envelope.. i didnt even get cardboard
