Was pleasantly surprised. Did not expect this good of a taste at this price point. But the flavor ranks (for me) somewhere between Ghirardelli 85% and Lindt Excellence 85%. Only drawback is that the bar is not sectioned off as are the other two name brands and so it is impossible to break off consistently sized pieces each time I want a piece.
I am a chocolate lover,is very for u health, overall, eating them and moderation is the key sometimes I am carrying away, but u has to be aware u intake, this one is not bad, little bit slim for the price, but I can't not find my favorite one and Walmart anymore I think the discontinued the green and black 85% chocolate, so far this is affordable, come from Switzerland 🇨🇭 not bad, tank God's is not from China my friend 😉 recommended u has to eat 85% and up more cacao more healthy for u,less cacao more sugar for u and u become addicted to sugar, and more parasite and u body, please get this massage right please read too become educated about chocolate 🍫 😉
I have tried dozens of dark chocolates and this is my favorite. Not only does 85% taste sweet enough but the texture is one of the best I have found in chocolates. What I do not know is how safe this chocolate is to eat (lead, cadmium). I recently used their 90% dark in chocolate chip cookies which tasted great to me. But to make the recipe for others, I'm going to use this 85% dark.
For the price point, 5 stars. It's not 'premium' but it is made in Switzerland and sure seems like its of solid quality to me. Plus point: Fair trade is like "shopping local worldwide". It's going to be in my rotation in (real) 'Dark Chocolate', Cocoa in particular. 70% and above for "Flavanols in dark chocolate help relax arteries, reducing systolic blood pressure by up to 5 mm Hg and cutting hypertension risk by 27%. It also improves overall cardiovascular circulation" (Cleveland Clinic). Also linked to 70% Cocoa consumption is improved cognitive function and memory. It may also enhance insulin sensitivity.
The taste is smooth and rich but the biggest plus is only 3 added sugars vs 15 or more in other dark chocolates. It is my go to guilt free treat that never raised my blood sugar. Win -win. The 90 % one is just as good.
This is a solid dark chocolate bar with a rich, smooth texture. The 85% cocoa gives it a deep flavor that feels high quality and not overly sweet. Great if you enjoy strong dark chocolate or want something less sugary. Only reason for 4 stars is that the bitterness might be a bit intense for some people, especially if you're used to sweeter chocolate. Overall, very good quality and worth trying if you like bold dark chocolate.
I started buying this bettergoods Premium Swiss 85% 3.5 oz Dark Chocolate Bar when the cost of my favorite brand of 85% dark chocolate became too high. It took me a few tries before I decided that this bettergoods chocolate bar was okay. I still prefer my favorite brand. The color of this bettergoods 85% chocolate bar is lighter and the chocolate is thicker than my favorite brand. The chocolate flavor of this bettergoods bar is not as intense as the chocolate flavor of my favorite 85% chocolate but again, this bettergoods 85% chocolate is much more affordable than my usual brand. I will continue to buy it.
It's a dark chocolate with a naturally fruity aftertase that sets this bar apart from the bigger-branded dark chocolate because it doesn't have the usual smokey aftertaste. I love the low sugar and straightforward ingredients.
This bar is good enough quality, especially for the price. But it doesn't have score marks on it to break into serving size pieces. I thought that it wouldn't be a big deal, but I find myself regularly eating way more than I do with other bars that I can break into even size squares. So if you are like me and want to keep track of how much you are eating, this may be a problem for you too.
I paid $3.44 on September 21st, now only 2 months later it has jumped a full dollar. Not nearly the quality of the Lindt chocolate but I was buying it since there was a $2 savings. For only $1 difference I may as well go back to Lindt or start shopping at Aldes, OR, get the Endangered species on sale at Bakers. At least the others are pre-cut into squares so you can actually measure your servings, AND better quality.
