If you like Cajun food but don't know how to cook it, this Louisiana Fish Fry Etouffee Base Mix is your best bet. Fast easy and delicious. You just can't' go wrong.
I highly recommend this Cajun Étouffée mix as a quick and easy way to make a great roux without having to juggle flour and multiple seasonings. The mixture browned beautifully in butter and thickened perfectly once I added water. The flavor was incredible on its own, but it was truly elevated when I added shrimp and blue crab meat. I served it over rice with a side of Jiffy cornbread, and it felt like a full, comforting home-cooked meal with very little effort. I also can't believe the price for how good this turned out, this is definitely a home staple for me now.
I tried the Louisiana Fish Fry Etouffee Base Mix for a quick weeknight dinner and it honestly impressed me. The flavor is rich and savory with that classic Cajun depth without being too heavy or salty. It has a warm, buttery roux base that tastes way closer to homemade than I expected from a mix. Prep is almost effortless. You sauté your protein of choice, add the mix with water or stock, and let it simmer. It thickens beautifully and gives shrimp or chicken a velvety sauce that feels like something you slow cooked all afternoon. For busy nights, it is a game changer. I also love that the spice level is balanced. There is a little heat but nothing overpowering, so my kids ate it without any complaints. Add green onions and rice and you have a cozy, restaurant style etouffee in under thirty minutes. If you want Louisiana flavor without the work of making a roux from scratch, this mix is absolutely worth keeping in the pantry. It is affordable, consistent, and delivers that authentic Cajun comfort in the easiest way.
The Cajun Étouffée Base was incredibly easy to make and, honestly, so delicious. I used shrimp and butter, poured the sauce over rice, and it tasted restaurant-quality in under 30 minutes. The flavor is creamy, mildly spicy, and full of that classic Cajun comfort. It feels like a homemade dish without needing a complicated recipe or long cook time. This is one of those pantry items I'll reach for again and again, especially on busy evenings when I still want something rich and soulful.
I tried this étouffée base at home after coming back from Louisiana, hoping to get something close to what we tasted on our trip — and it was so good. The flavor was rich and savory, and it made the whole dish really easy to pull together on a busy night. It's a great shortcut that still tastes homemade, and I'll definitely buy it again.
This etouffée base exceeded my expectations! It had a lot more flavor than expected and the instructions worked perfectly. I did add a little spice at the end with some cayenne and smoked paprika, but it wasn't necessary. I didn't even have to add salt! It worked really well with shrimp.
The Louisiana Fish Fry Etouffee Base Mix made dinner so easy and SO flavorful. The Cajun seasoning is perfectly balanced and gives that rich, comforting taste without being too salty. Loved how quickly I could whip up an authentic-tasting etouffee for the family!
The Louisiana Fish Fry Etouffee Base is delicious and so easy to use. The flavor tastes authentic and gives you that true Louisiana taste with very little effort. Just add your protein and let it simmer. It turns any meal into something comforting, rich, and full of flavor. Highly recommend!
I am from Louisiana and just add to pay mix has too much vinegar in it vinegar is not supposed to be used in etouffee
This is a diluted etouffee mix perhaps the brainchild of a bean counter thinking he could cut cost but still make profit. The result is a thinner end mix which disappointed us. We were used a robust thickening sauce with strong flavor. Instead, this new "variety" is watery, weak in flavor and, like we said, disappointing. Cannot recommend.
