7 Pc. 3/8" Drive Pinless Univ Ext. Socket Set

Extended swivel short socket are needed for today's automobile due to the tight working conditions in cars and trucks today. Sometimes wrenches, open ended or closed, just won't cut the mustard. These are a must have tool to get things done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you are looking for a set of sockets that has length and flexibility look no further. These socket/extensions measure in around 9 inches providing extra reach for those hard-to-reach fasteners. The x-core pivot point in my opinion is superior to the more common pinned joint because the x-core flex point does not bind at tight angles in most cases (I say most because there are some people out there who will go to the end of the earth to prove that statement incorrect). There are also the small details that make this a great product to work with. First the chamfered drive end and socket ends; does not sound like much but sometimes working blind those chamfers help just enough to guide the socket to engage the fastener, or drive end to tool. The large laser etched size is once again vision impaired operator friendly (love this because I wear glasses and struggle in the vision department) and just in case you wear that laser etched sizing off, the nice folks at gear wrench also stamped the size at the drive end. I do wish that the set went larger than a 15mm and came in a better storage solution. Over all I would say this is a set of tools I look forward to having an opportunity to use again.

This set comes in handy big time for working on cars, especially in the engine bay and underneath the vehicle. Also the x core painless design gives the socket great range and flex.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would say after using these for awhile I was quite impressed with the swivel design. I found them to make oil pans and starters easier because your not worried about the socket falling off and getting stuck in a tight space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Comes in a nice plastic tray if your box has room for it. Nice that they include 11mm, and 14mm for use of some standard bolts (7/16”, 9/16”). No slop in the ends since they are the same as CV joints. Can provide impact without losing much through the joint. Perfect for doing control arm bolts. High quality and the etching on them make it easy to read.

I am a ASE Master L1 so I have tons of tools and when these came out I honestly stared at them for quite some time thinking how will this tool benfit me. I have wobble extensions, I have universals, why do I need this I decided why not give it a try. I have to say I love these they are amazing I wish they made more sizes than 8-15 i wish they made a tiny 1/4 inch version as well its the perfect combination of wobble extension and universal socket but even better. The extension is just the right length the tight spots these reach is in my opinion unparalleled. If you don't own a set take my advice its worth every penny.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using these a lot and they've been holding up very well, very durable. One piece swivel socket attached to an extension is convenient. Don't have to worry about using a swivel socket on an extension and having it accidentally fly off causing damage to nearby vehicles. Used them under the hood, chassis, suspension area and hasn't let me down yet. Would love to see a 1/2” version with larger sizes, 17mm and 19mm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great set of universal flex sockets with extensions. It allows you to reach into deep or tight spaces with the 7 inch long extension on each socket. The X-Core flex universal at the socket end alows for access to fasteners at up to 30 degree offset angles. The benefit of the X-Core pinless universal is that it applies even torque as you tighten or loosen the fastener, it also has a lot smoother operation than a standard universal joint and a slimmer diameter than the pinned design that have collars. I found that these sockets worked great in the engine bay on front wheel drive vehicles where there is not a lot of room. These also wprked perfect for accessing caliper bolts when doing brake jobs. The overall build quality is top notch, definitely what I would expect from Gearwrench. I would say that I will get a lot more use out of these as I discover where they will give me better access to difficult to get to fasteners.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up this 7 piece to help with a project I was working on. Upon first opening the package I could tell they were going to be useful. The pinless joint has a greater operating angle than pinned joint sockets I've had in the past. The size is stamped on the end and printed on the other, so they are easily found in my box. The 3/8 drive end fits snuggly on my ratchet and impacts. Overall I would recommend this to all my fellow mechanics for ease of use and functionality.
