It's darn near the perfect 1st e-bike. I was concerned about the 250 watt motor, but it's engineered so well it's not an issue
It has enough power to get around. I'm still on the first charge. Probably gone 25 miles but not always using the battery. I went on dirt trails, hills, It's still half charged. You do have to charge it fully before the first ride. The bike is comfortable, solid, sturdy.
My husband wanted an ebike, but I was hesitant. He sold me on the pedal assist ebikes. We are in our mid 60s, We love this bike. It has opened up a whole new biking world to us. Hills are no longer a struggle. But it still feels like we are getting exercise. They came wonderfully packaged. Easy to assemble. Great experience ro buy and ride!
My first ebike. I am very very happy with this ebike. It is a smooth ride. I usually use no power, to get a workout. And, Level 1 to help me on some of those hills. I haven't used level 2 and 3 yet. But, I feel like a young teenager with my hair flying in the wind, lol. I look forward to daily ride on this ebike.
I spend 2 days to figure out how to turn on ebike it has a button on battery after you fully charge it not mention in instructions manual... Ready to to after battery fully charged...right But another button on battery u must turn on....then your ebike is ready
Functions great - AFTER I had to have a third party vendor assemble the bike. I two complaints . One- the bicycle wheel came flat as the air tire plug was broken. I had to take the wheel to a bike shop and have the air plug fixed so that we can add air to the tire. No air would hold. Second, is for customers NOT to use Angi. The pro was NOT on time and had to reschedule. This ruined the element of surprise and caused a late XMAS GIFT.
Extremely reasonably priced starter e-bike in case you're not sure you'll like power assist. Like many others, I had an issue getting the bike to work because the manual is not clear on how to get to that first ride. There is a section hidden in the user manual that mentions there is a power button on the battery. This button is facing towards the ground as are the LED annunciators, so it is not obvious that there is anything on the battery to turn it on or off. People are not used to turning batteries on and off independently of turning the actual equipment (in this case a bicycle) on and off. I contacted customer service to initiate a return and they requested photos of the battery and charger. After a couple weeks delay the manufacturer got back to me that I should look for a battery button and turn that on, which was the issue but I did not like the delay as this was a Christmas present that I gave and it didn't work right out of the box. Sure, user error, but also bad user manual too. Based on other comments I've read, the battery power button should have been the first suggestion they gave me when I called. Looks like Schwinn really gave themselves a big customer relations headache with this issue so if Schwinn is reading, how about a quick start guide that covers EVERYTHING needed to ride the bike, or an instructional video on YouTube? The other issue with the bike is the tangle of cables coming off the brakes and handlebar controllers. Very messy and poorly thought out. The messy wiring makes the bike look like a home-built (check out Walmart's product photos, the wires aren't managed any better). This really needs to be improved, but maybe that's part of why it only costs $500. But other than the initial frustration with the battery power button it works well and has good power.
The bike will only turn on when the charger is plugged in. I've gone online and checked what to do. Everything is connected properly. I'm going to get the battery checked next. This is brand new bike. I received it 5 days ago and can't use it. To expensive to just use as a regular bike. It is a very nice looking bike
it does not provide details of how to detach the battery. also, it does not provide instructions of how to switch on the battery. I do not know how to remove the battery. I tried to open the battery, however, it was very hard to remove and cannot be removed. that is very bad. the producer is careless.
I give this ebike a 1 star review because of the tubes! * this bike is not made for uneven terrain. If you are going to be on even sidewalks or pavement then this ebike is for you. * the sidewalks by me are uneven and I had 3 rear tire flats in less then 3 weeks. * I contacted Schwinn customer service %26 was hung up on by Taylor. I called back and got Peyton who tried to assist me. Unfortunately the 700c tubes could not be found at any of the stores recommended. ~ Walmart / Target / DSG / Amazon * I contacted Schwinn customer service a 3rd time to see if they had gotten any tubes in stock. I got Taylor again, he is definitely not a customer service individual. Very short, did not want to hear my situation only wanted my email so he could end the call. * the tubes are 700c / mm - mm, so if you dont have the proper mm you cant buy the tube. * I finally found a 2pk of the tubes on Amazon. So I purchased them but then got 2 rear flats. However ... * throttle performance is smooth. I like the thumb throttle on the left handle bar. Made it easy to increase speed and reach for the brakes when needed. * handle bars %26 seat extremely comfortable. * the ebike is advertised as aurora white ... it was a beautiful light pink, totally loved the color! Very girly!! * Unfortunately I had to return the ebike because by the 3rd flat I could not keep purchasing tubes nor keep changing a rear tire. My suggestion: the Schwinn 700c Bay Ridge E~Bike: put a 26" tire %26 tube on this bike!!! Make it great!!! And if you need someone to test ride it ... I'm here for you! I had challenges with Schwinn customer service! 4 calls and 3 bad experiences. Some noted above and my challenges with Lani are not posted here!
