I'm 80 years old, live on SS (far below the poverty line) and although I've never had one I've heard and read that Ribeye steak is delicious. I will never know - I will never care! as long as I can get Walmart's 73/27 ground beef at their consistantly good price. Fresh and tasty. What's better than a delicious cheeseburger? Answer: TWO or THREE (or, perhaps a big meatloaf) --- On Friday's grocery list: 10 more pounds of WM hamburger
Great item. I use it for making about 6 freezer meals. I brown the meat, add it to freezer bags with other ingredients, freeze it, and then put it in the crock pot when it's time to use. Have had no problems with it. Had my latest item delivered 02-03-26 and it needs to be cooked or frozen by 02-15-26, so there's a good amount of time to get the cooking done.
The "fat" is on the label and is the percent contained in the meat. I did not have any problems with this, as it seemed to be the same as any other burger I have purchased in clear packages with the same percent(s) of fat on the labels. I oftened wondered what the meat would look like, in a roll like sausage is packed, and you can't see what is inside. I was surprised! There was not any difference in the way the meat looked or the way it was ground up. So, I have ordered several times in this package and I know it will be just fine when I open it up! The flavor was good as well, so yes I will continue to order and would recommend it to anyone who is not sure if they have never tried it.
This is the best price I can find for ground beef, even better than Costco. It doesn't have too much gristle, and though it is very fatty, it's easy to strain off. 10lbs may seem overkill, but I cook it in 2 batches in my large Dutch oven, and freeze it in 2 cup portions for future meals.
go big or go home! this 10 lb roll of ground beef is priced right and is always fresh and delicious! this ground beef always has a long expiration date. lines on outer packaging for easy separation of meat! fair amount of grease for the fat content. nice fresh taste.
Best deal per pound. This ground beef is very greasy. I used to think that meant I was just getting less meat once I cooked off and drained the fat. But recently Ive noticed that the meat is very greasy, even after I drain it. I wish I could afford to buy the lesser fat ratios, but we have a big family and I need it to stretch as far as it can. Oh, a side note. It is difficult to separate for freezing because the markings on the package are not accurate. That, or its not really 10lbs. There are 10 sections marked for the 10lbs, but 2 of them are the ends which are not even half as big as the sections in between. And it's not just because of the tapering. I don't have a kitchen scale to measure it out, so I just have to do it by eye. It would be nice if I could use the markings on the package as they were intended.
I had purchased two 10LB rolls of ground beef one of which happened to be spoiled and slimy on the same order I had previously had missing/damaged items I had just last night tried to make dinner for my family to find out the meat was spoiled and it wasn’t even a ordered on the 28th opened on the 31st few days old, and the expiration date wasn’t even near. I contacted support about the previous issues and they got resolved but now I contacted support about the beef and got a email saying they can’t do anything because I somehow violated return/refund policy and I did confirm if I could throw away the meat in which I was told I could BY SUPPORT. I’m extremely disappointed as a Walmart plus member… need better support.
I’ve gotten this roll for many years and slowly watching the price go up and quality go way down! This time is just ridiculous tho it’s close to half fat in the tube! I pulled out most that was easy to get to as I usually cut these into 1lb sections and freeze so I know I missed some under the labels. It’s already so fatty %26 greasy when cooked but now it’s chunks of it rolled up trying to be disguised as meat. Do better Walmart
Approximately 6 years ago around the time of COVID, this item cost $20 is extremely or should like extreme price gouging that it now costs $43 per 10 pound roll of ground beef, and it's only been 6 years later. That type of price gouging and inflation occurs over a longer period of time , typically like in the seventies where potato chips were twenty five cents for personal back and ships , and now it costs almost three dollars or two ninety 94 a personal back and chips , the best thirty plus years
I was charged $39.99 for this hamburger. However, this hamburger was only $31.15 and the difference was never credited to my card/account. Somebody had to have gotten credited the difference for the $8.79, but it wasn’t the paying customer. Also, I purchased this hamburger on August 6th. It was delivered August 6th to be used or frozen by August 7th. This does not do me a bit of good when I work 11 hour days and didn’t realize I was given a discounted hamburger roll that I paid full price on.
