This is our go-to ground beef. While I sometimes buy the 10 pound package, this is easier to get in the fridge and use up. It stays good for a while. After I open it I put it in a ziploc bag for storage. There is a lot of grease with this meat but the flavor is my favorite.
This order the quality was good, but the quality of the ground beef chubs has not been consistent in the last 6 months. I used to buy this one, than switched to the higher quality, but than that started to have issues as well, recently purchased this one again and the quality was good, the fat content oil was different.
Walmart consistently has the best deals on ground beef these days and it tastes just as good as competitors. I always buy this large 5 pound log then cut it up into 1 lb portions, put them in ziploc bags in the freezer and use over time. This tastes great in tacos, meatloaf and taco soup. So glad to have an affordable place to buy ground beef for all my recipes.
Walmart's hamburger meat offers solid value for everyday cooking. The ground beef is generally fresh and it's consistent, easy to find, and affordable. Some customers might notice a bit more grease in higher-fat blends, but overall, it's a reliable option for quick, budget-friendly meals.
We enjoy this tubes ground beef. We usually buy 3lbs or 5lbs and make several different meals for the week. Recently I bought two 5 lbs and didn’t get to it all in a matter of 1-3 days so it was trashed. So we’ll still with just 3lbs or 5 lbs but never more than that per week and we are a family of 3 adults.
With today’s prices on things this turned out to be a great value, I purchased a patty press, purchased this 5 pound roll, seasoned the meat prior to pressing my own patties and have enjoyed 1/2 pound patties for a month and a half. I get (11) half a pound patties out of (1) five pound roll of this and save myself a good amount of money. These burgers cook up really well from frozen and because I seasoned the meat prior to pressing, the flavor is great plain or with your favorite toppings
What I dislike is that a few months ago this particular item was not $23 dollars and some change for a 5 lbs of hamburger meat. what has changed you were able to get this item for under $15!! The price gouging is REAL!!! Greed, isn't that one of the 7 deadly sins?? Hmmm.
Has a good taste overall but there is entirely to much fat to drain after cooked more than there used to be for sure .The price is extremely outrageous. 10lbs for $40.00 and then you lose a quarter or more of that in fat so its almost not worth buying when your low income and low buget like I am. I dont really have another choice to pick from andvthat is probably the only reason I buy it.
I've purchased this beef several times due to the affordability since I'm feeding a family of 5. Unfortunately it is just not worth the price. There is so much water and fat in this product that it cooks down to about 3 lbs. It doesn't even taste like anything. I'm looking elsewhere for ground beef from now on. Keep shopping around if you're considering buying this based on price.
I broke it down in pounds so I packed it away in pounds 1 lb each now the problem is I may have got the wrong one because my meat size shrunk a whole lot when I went to cook it I had nothing but Grease I wish I took pictures of it but I was cooking just for four people so cooking that day I had to make some adjustments
