This is our go-to ground beef. While I sometimes buy the 10 pound package, this is easier to get in the fridge and use up. It stays good for a while. After I open it I put it in a ziploc bag for storage. There is a lot of grease with this meat but the flavor is my favorite.
Walmart consistently has the best deals on ground beef these days and it tastes just as good as competitors. I always buy this large 5 pound log then cut it up into 1 lb portions, put them in ziploc bags in the freezer and use over time. This tastes great in tacos, meatloaf and taco soup. So glad to have an affordable place to buy ground beef for all my recipes.
I prefer Walmarts ground beef rolls over many others. Regardless, we're not getting the amount listed on the package with just about any brand, anywhere, anymore. With this brand I get consistency in amount, texture, and taste! I drain the meat and it's absolutely not as oily as other brands. This is my go to for taco nights, a quick spaghetti sauce, sloppy joe, and even a cheap meatloaf dinner.
This is a very fatty mix of ground meat. It is good for what it is but expect a lot of fat to render out. I gave it a 4 on value because beef is simply too expensive these days. This particular log of meat is in our weekly rotation for doggie meal prep. As far as human dinners go, this is great for something like tacos where you plan to drain the meat after cooking. I say it is a little on the fatty side for burgers.
I like the convenience of buying the hamburger in a bigger size, the 5 lb package. I can divide it up into smaller packages and save some money. Beef is so expensive right now. I wouldn't say it's the best tasting hamburger, quality, or buy...but it competitive with other store offerings.
This hamburger makes great burgers to have with a salad. It's in a roll with weight guide for size and convenience. The meat is tender and great quality. Beef prices in general are too high. If it wasn't so expensive these days I would buy it more often.
What I dislike is that a few months ago this particular item was not $23 dollars and some change for a 5 lbs of hamburger meat. what has changed you were able to get this item for under $15!! The price gouging is REAL!!! Greed, isn't that one of the 7 deadly sins?? Hmmm.
It is a good price, but too much fat. Loses a lot of weight as it produces fat when it cooks. It works when you are broke, but if you can afford better, do better. For us poor folks, it seems awesome for the price, but then when you cook it, it is not that great of a price anymore. God Bless. Seek Jesus.
Item was no good. I said leave it at the side door they left it at the front door where I never go. Nor does anyone else. So it was no good after sitting in the 80 something degree heat all those hours. But then I was the bad guy for throwing it out and telling them I wanted a refund 🤷♀️
Had a small blue piece of plastic, about a third of the way into the roll. The quality is shockingly bad - the appearance, the smell, the plastic - it's overall awful. I won't by 73/27 again - I don't know why the quality is so much worse than the 80/20.
