The pole of the umbrella is solid wood and very sturdy. The fabric on the umbrella is very thick and high quality and you can tell it will last for years even in bad weather. It is easy to raise and lower and the Sunbrella fabric is heavy and feels durable. It provides great shade and looks as though it will hold up over time. We also love the color of the canopy and in combination with the wood it is beautiful.
