As a child growing up in New York my mother often made soup with Pastina in it. The broth she used was always College In. So you can imagine my surprise to find this brand on California shelves 50+ years later. Now, thanks to Walmart I can make my favorite soup once again. For a time Walmart also stocked Pastina (very tiny star shaped pasta). But they haven't had it for a while. I sure hope they offer it again very soon.
A while ago I stop buying this broth because for me it tasted like water. Lately I need broth and I could not find the ones I like it. I therefore ordered these ones and it was a big surprise for me founding that they are very good. It taste very good (chicken ) they have a good ph and the size is fantastic. As you can see I will continue using them again
This brand of broth is, by far, THE best I've used saw far...the flavor is perfectly balanced....not overly salty, the ingredients are expertly blended. I drink it alone, but also use it for a number of Keto recipes, including, boiling my Shirataki noodles in, and adding to my pot roasts that I cook in my pressure cooker! I have MANY of the chicken and beef on hand.
I found College Inn Chicken Broth when I moved to Florida. It is the best canned chicken broth I have found. This chicken broth is so good that I love just drinking it warm, without adding anything to it. I always wanted to see soups from College Inn. I bet they would be fantastic!!! Sadly, I have moved back to the South West and it isn't available here, unless I have it shipped. I am devastated.
I love the flavor of this broth. It is the best I have ever tasted. I prefer the cans as opposed to the boxes.
One carton, was damaged in shipping and contents leaked inside cardboard box causing it to break when picked up, three other cartons were not damaged and contents safe for consumption
The cans allowed me to see the broth before putting it into my recipe. Now I have to pour it out into a glass bowl to check it. Also, in the past, there was a layer of fat that flavored the broth now I can't tell if it's been eliminated. I've found other "stocks", which I now use, that are much more flavorful.
i usually love this broth ive been buying it since i was a kid and would love to give a good review but i never received this order. i ordered on 6/12 it was supposedly out for delivery from my local post office on 6/14 it never showed up. check the tracking number said delayed awaiting delivery on the 15th never showed, then it said next business day never showed. its now july 8th i still have not seen or heard anything about this item. did the mail lady drink it in the truck
I have been using College Inn Chicken broth for a number of years. I've never thought about actually really looking at this broth. Tonight, for some reason, after I opened the can I rinsed out the container. Sadly to my surprise, after the rinse, I realized there was still something in the container. When I shook it out, a gooey something came out. It was very, very dark. I want to believe that it was just the broth in an unusual gelatinous form. I usually shake the container, but this time maybe I didn't. I threw out the rest of the broth. From now on....at least a little while from now, I will always check what the broth looks like, no more globs for me. ewww.
I purchased this brand for the first time and there were black-"ash like" particles floating in the broth. I won't be purchasing this product in the future.
