Love to use this as a base for adding dried fruit and extract to match. Raspberry, cherry, mixed frozen berries. They all make a great cake that's festive with little effort!
I ONLY use Duncan Hines cake mixes! The white cake mix is so versatile. I make sweet rolls w/it People go crazy for them and it's so easy. It never fails me!!
The box calls for 3 egg whites. since LARGE eggs are hard to figure I use 4 EGG WHITES. This makes the texture after blending for 1 minute and beating for 2 or 2 1/2 minutes very light and fluffy, tasty and similar to angel food cake but better! Make these cupcakes for all my grandkids birthdays, no frosting (too messy for little ones) just bright colored papers! Between birthdays one grandchild begs me to make for his "UN-Birthday", Grandma has to do it!
Good base cake mix for tres leches in a pinch. Prepare the mix with milk instead of water, 4 eggs, and butter instead of oil. Bake 30 mins at 350. Meanwhile mix 1 cup whole milk with a can of evaporated milk and a can of sweetened condensed milk, splash of vanilla and pinch of cinnamon if desired. Cool cake poke holes pour on milk mixture. Whip heavy cream for topping.
Duncan Hines Cake Mixes have been around for a very long time. My Grandmother would never have admitted this, but she often used a ‘box cake.’ I love white cake with white frosting - Duncan Hines sells them both, and they are moist and delicious! Recommend!
My granddaughter loves this cake mix she likes to see me get it out and then help me because this means that she can put chocolate all over it and eat it price point is okay The quality of the cake is good and moist I always choose this brand to bake with
I have always had good luck with Duncan Hines' cake mixes. This Classic White bakes up nicely, has a moist texture, and in conjunction with their frosting mix, makes a great dessert. Lately I have been using this cake mix in the crockpot with two cans of pie filling (peach is my favorite), a handful of chopped pecans, a little cinnamon and nutmeg, and a stick of melted butter, for a tasty peach cobbler. Absolutely recommended.
I made this cake for my son. He loves mint chocolate chip ice cream so much that I made his cake that flavor. By adding mint flavoring, green food coloring and chocolate chips it was perfect. Moist to the end. I used 2 mixes and filled the pan to it's limits. It rose perfectly and spead with Duncan hines frosting was the best choice.
What a disaster! Not only does this new classic white fall in on itself after baking it also doesn't even make a whole cake! How much more will you cheat customers by changing sizes and recipes? I've never baked a cake to see it doesn't even make it halfway up the pan! How disappointing from this company. You all should be ashamed of these products with your name on them! Check out reviews at duncan hines website! Pick another brand!!
I have used Duncan Hines for cakes for literal years. They’ve change their recipe and their amount, which means for a 3 layer or “tier” cake you have to make at LEAST 2 boxes, and I mean there is nothing left over. I used to be able to do a cake a few cupcakes with 2 boxes. Not to mention how dry this cake mix turned out. I won’t be repurchasing Duncan or using it for my baking any longer.
