These are a great base for a hearty, easy meal. The brown sugar and hickory flavor gives them a nice balance of sweet and smoky that works really well. Good texture, good flavor, and they hold up nicely when heated. One of my favorite ways to use them is mixing them with another flavor of baked beans and adding cheddar brats. It turns a simple dish into something filling and really satisfying. This is one I keep on hand because it's reliable and easy to build a meal around.
When it's just the two of us and we need a quick side to go with a burger or brat on the grill these baked beans are a good choice. They taste good and are quick and convenient! Of course you can serve more than 2 people but my husband can eat a whole can by himself and we often just keep it simple at meals and have just these. Delicious!
The best way to explain the baked beans is to describe what the beans taste like. The beans taste like brown sugar, sweet simple syrup, and cinnamon. The beans were easy to heat up. The can was easy to open with a basic can opener. The baked beans last about a week, and were fresh everytime I served them for dinner. The beans filled the pot and smell very good. I did not burn the beans nor have to put butter in the pot. I added a little water to stretch the beans and sauce and I was able to enjoy the beans. I was able to chew the beans because they were tender. The dent in the beans let me know that they were picked the right way and prepared and canned the right way. The beans were delicious warm. I am on a diet, and the baked beans was a good starch for me. Thank you, Walmart.
I honestly can't tell the difference between these and the name brand I grew up with. When money is tight, I make a meal I call "bean noodles." It's essentially just beans n franks (morningstar hot dogs to be exact) with a box of whole wheat noodles thrown in. It becomes more noodles than it does beans, but the flavor of the bean sauce coats the noodles really nicely. It's a super filling meal. I'll keep using these beans since they're a little cheaper!
I highly recommend these beans and have ate them for years. I simply add a dash of mustard, bbq sauce, sweet relish, dash of honey or syrup and diced hot dogs, cook on low for 20 minutes, tastes great every time. It feeds a family of 4 when I add everything to it. :)
We Really Like The Great Value Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans , They Are Very Good. We Love Having Our Baked Beans With Cinnamon Added And We Find That The Great Value Brand Tastes More Like Homemade Baked Beans.I Highly Recommend These Beans .
These baked beans are not bad for canned baked beans. For me they are a tiny bit mushy, ie the beans lost their shape some but I did heat them of course and added bell peppers and onions, a little mustard so I had to stir them some. For a last minute, don't wanna bake your own, I'd buy again.
they were really good, and for the price they were exceptionally good. I have to feed a lot of people. I miss the chunk of bacon that Bush's puts in theirs, or the Bacon fat that you find in the pork and beans, that's the first thing I noticed that it didn't have it. also the the sauce that it's in, it's really thin and I like Bushes it's a lot thicker. but if you're on a budget, you can't beat this.
I am a loyal Walmart customer and I always uy their Great Value brand whenever available because it saves me money, and because I find their brand to be of equal or better quality than more expensive national brands. However, they missed the mark with these. They had very little flavor, and it had no bbq flavor st all. I must say I was quite disappointed. I do not recommend this product.
Absolutely horrible. The can was a chunk of beans with no literally no sauce at all. Half a bottle of ketchup and half a bottle of sweet baby rays and it almost looked liked it was supposed to but the beans tasted HORRIBLE. I should have stuck with Bush's but chose poorly by trying to save a buck. Well, I learned my lesson.
