I use Hunts Sauce in my Spaghetti Sauce and in my Swiss Steak recipes. It is not bitter, nor too sweet and I like the consistency. It marries well with the herbs I add to my sauces.
This adds another level of zing to my spaghetti. It's not spicy or hot, but brings extra rich tomato flavor to my spaghetti when added with spaghetti sauce.
This tomato paste is the greatest. I tried the rest but, hunt's is the best. I been using hunt's tomato paste for over 35 years.
I use this with diced tomatoes and others to make my lasagna.
I usually purchase this at a wholesale club, but they only carry the 6 oz cans now. I use 12 oz when I make a pot of sauce so the 12 oz cans are easier to work with and cost less than two 6 oz cans.
Terrific taste! I use this to make home made spaghetti sauce. Add three cans of water per tomato paste can mixed with your spices...it thickens up nicely with lots of tomato flavor!!
Worth the money and is less than other brands.
I usually get the great value brand, but they were out of stock. This one worked just as well to make spaghetti sauce. The price isn't bad, but it's more than Walmart's house brand.
I don't know what has happened to Hunt's tomato products, which I have used for decades. The taste is very bitter and acidic and there is no amount of spices or sugar that can make it taste good. This is the second time I have used it since I noticed the difference, but no more. Food costs are too high to throw an entire batch of spaghetti sauce in the garbage.
I never liked Hunts Tomatoe Paste, l didn't order it, l ordered Cantidina tomatoe paste. Wound up given it away
