I always purchases this log of ground beef is a great protein source. for me the more fat the better. I feel it worth the pack I divided it out and freeze them and make many dishes. i do a pound per pk. So this time I decided to measure it out and it definitely wasn't 5 lbs. It came out 4lbs %26 4oz. It was 12oz short. So I am going to bring it to the consumers attention. Now I see what people are saying about these consumers cheating us.
I was skeptical at first but bought it because the price was right, and I have been very pleased and continue to go back for more. Anything you would use ground beef before you can use this blend for. I’ve made tacos, meatloaf, and other delicious foods.
This product is a very good price 👌. I use this beef and pork meat for all my beef dishes. Spaghetti, Fideo, Picadillo , homemade hamburger helper and pasta and beef.😋 I want to try it with my vegetables and beef soup 🍲 😋. The price is fantastic if you are on a tight budget. Oh, by the way, Picadilla is a dish with the beef pork browned and drained. Add tomato sauce and spices, chicken bullion, chopped potatoes, and a can of corn. Yum, yum, good eating.
When I searched for hamburger, this product 80% Lean/20% Fat Ground Beef and Pork Blend, 1 lb Roll was shown. I planned on making a meatloaf and already had the ground sausage in my cart. So, I took a chance and added 2 of these to my cart and removed the sausage. I am delighted with the results and will keep buying it. It was also cheaper than buying them separately.
As soon as i saw rhis product in the meat section, i knew what i wanted to make with it. I made the most tasty meatloaf ever! All of my life i havevonly used ground beef for meatloaf because thatbhow my mother taught me. My family loved this blend though of meats so i will be back for more!!
A INCREASEOF 1$ IS TOTALLY INCREDDIABLE TO BELIEVE YOU CAN JUSTIFY SUCH A COST INCREASE I CAN UNDERSTAND A INCREASE BUT 20% COST INCREASE WHEN COLA WAS LESS THAN 3% THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS PRICE GOUGING
with beef being priced right out of reach you try to substitute but this is a total waste of time buy a pound by the time it cooks down barely weighed out at 6.5 ounces taste is not at all beef more pork which in a beef dish is a definite turn off not again in this house it's a little bit cheaper than real beef but compared to the end result after cooking your not getting much
I've made my own 50/50% beef, pork meatloaf mix (what I call it). I've also bought meatloaf mix but I've never seen it in a tube like this. Obviously, I had to try it. I made a fairly small hamburger patty and used the rest for Hamburger Helper. The meat looked good with appropriate amount of meat/fat ratio. Also had about the right amount of grease for 80/20%. I cooked the patty just like I would a full beef patty (salt, pepper only). Again, it cooked up well, not much grease, and tasted really good. But, the patty and the ground meat cooked more like pork than beef. I can not find the pork/beef ratio anywhere in the description or on the packaging. Although, anywhere the ingredients are listed... Pork is always first in the list. I'm guessing by my experiment, that it's 75 to 80% pork and 20 to 25% beef. Still, it cooked up well and tasted pretty good and it's half the price of ground beef. It will be perfect for soups, stews, chili etc... etc... I will keep some on hand in my freezer. And I would recommend to family and friends. PS: I still think it should be mandatory for the pork/beef ratio to be listed on the packaging.
Have used this beef/pork blend for quite a while now. very little grease in pan, been good in recipes. Has always been well priced but downfall was only vould get it in 1 lb rolls. Ive ordered no less than 2 rolls, many weeks at least 4 rolls per week. Went to start my order for this week and the price has inreased $1 per roll!! Seriously?!? That's a big jump at once!
terrible texture, flavor is not good - I had this simmering in pasta sauce for 3 hours and even that didn't help it. I know tube meat is always questionable but this is extra extra questionable.
