880 AIRRIFLE W/SCOPE

First had one of these some 40 years ago. The new one is almost exactly like it. Only difference I can think of is that the one I had decades ago had a metal pump arm. The new one has a polymer arm and yet still feels as stout as a metal one. I bought it primarily to shoot pellets for target practice and competition. With respect to pellets, using an indoor range limited to 4 pumps, it really hits pellet trap very hard and tight groupings. Not uncommon to get 4 of 5 shots so close together it looks like one large hole. I am very happy with the accuracy of using both iron sights and scope. Quality seems to be very good still. If there's one con, and this is a personal preference of mine, I just wished it weighed a little more. When firing from the standing firing position on 5-meter and 10-meter ranges, the rifle is very light feeling and that causes instability in trying to keep the aim steady. By contrast, I also have a Daisy model 1999 Western Sky bb gun that when filled with a few hundred bb's will make that bb gun weigh a bit more than the 880, which then makes it easier to shoot from competition standing posture. If the 880 had another pound or two of weight, preferably towards the middle or front, this would be one of the best air rifles around. As it is, it's still 5/5 stars. From supported positions like prone, sitting, kneeling, or even using a bench rest, the 880 is extraordinarily accurate. If you're a competitive shooter, you'll like this amazing air rifle. And I like that it's a full-size feeling rifle in that it's exactly the same length and reach as my Rossi .22 rifle, albeit about 2 pounds lighter. I haven't used the scope as much as iron sights since scopes are banned in most competitions. However, using it around the house the scope seems to be fairly good quality. It has elevation and windage adjustments on scope just like a full-size rifle scope has. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see the 4x15 Daisy scope also had a focuser so that I can adjust it to my eye for a clear sight picture. Just remember to back off the lock ring a little, adjust to your vision, then tighten down the lock ring so it doesn't move. I was very impressed with that extra feature that I wasn't expecting. I'm very satisfied with this product and recommend to anyone who enjoys the sport of target shooting.

Of all of the BB and pellet guns I've owned since I was a kid, this was and is my favorite because it's the best overall in my opinion. Accurate, powerful and inexpensive. I'm sixty now and I live in the country and I have to walk in the evening and at night because I'm heat sensitive; this is still great for hunting, but also my piece of mind because I know it is a good deterrent should I have any unexpected animal encounters. I also have severe arthritis in my wrist, hands and shoulders, so the easy pump makes this a great gun for old-timers too. My eyes are no longer good either but with this gun as long as you can point and line up the sight pretty close you're going to hit what you're shooting at... with no kick. It's Awesome! Still makes me feel like a kid again and brings back memories every time I touch it.

The one I ordered online was all black. When I picked this up, it was brown. I was told I could not return it or exchange it. There was a manager that seemed to freak out when I walked in with this BB gun still and its original packaging. I mean it's a box That I was just handed outside. She acted like I was carrying a live AK-47. The whole experience was just stupid. I kept it and it works well even though I don't like the color.

This air rifle is entry level and so is the price. For what it is, it's very capable. There are lots of opinions on the quality control as some Daisy's are more accurate, tighter construction, varying power compared to identical rifles. All in all it's a good cheap start to get into shooting, learning the fundamentals, etc. With the loads of these sold, the internet is very resourceful when it comes to improving this air rifle cheaply at home for better performance and reliability.

The air rifle is satisfactory. The problem is that my wife does not want me to have it for various reasons. I thought that I would be able to just return it to keep peace in the house. Unfortunately, I came to find out that the item is not returnable. I did not see that on the Walmart website when I ordered the rifle, but it is there. Will have too look more closely when buying online to see if an item is returnable.

The gun I received and the gun advertised are not the same gun and then I find out it is not returnable!! The gun I ordered in the online picture is black and a 880S, the gun I got is brown and a 880. This equals false advertising in my opinion Item was shipped in the box it comes in and arrived tattered and torn up! This is a Christmas gift from a grandparent on a fixed income and a big Walmart fail! I’ll use Amazon from now on.

It’s poorly made. Walmart should have picked a vendor that stood by their product you can’t even return it. I’ve had it less than 24hrs been used to see of that works and it does not. Tried to return and the csr said it’s out of their control I would not be getting my money back.

I ordered a black powerline 880 and received the brown powerline 880 which I already have. I did not open it being that I already have one in Brown. The gun is very accurate, nice trigger but feels somewhat like a toy. Unfortunately I could not return it due to no returns, so I guess I will save it for my grandson.

Yay walmart, you sold us a defective bb gun and we can't return it because of store policy? Super disappointed. This is inches off at 50 feet, with the iron sight, read the reviews and didn't even try the scope. Just need it to keep the woodpeckers off the eaves, but this bb/pellet rifle is flawed. Now I'm stuck with it?

its only looks like a bb rifle. it will not shoot if it even loads a bb. the one i received the trigger wouldn't even move after i followed the loading procedure given, i tried with the bolt pulled back and not pulled back and the safety either didn't unlock or fully move the orange part never fully went in . the scope holding blocks were so small to see that it took 3 days of trying to finally get it tight enough to even stay long enough to screw the screws which aren't anything but plastic ( i think), the slots of screws just deteriorated by the time i lined the holes to the pieces and holes. its an entire plastic toy the barrel may be mete but its not very strong feeling, this product just ruined what i thought daisy products were, my godfather got me one when i was 5 or 8 years old and it lasted til i was 11 ( the plastic pump cracked and wore til it stopped holding air but the gun wasn't plastic only the pump lever was and im 42 now with squirrels taking all my bird seeds so i thought that this toy would help a little but i never even got a test shot guess ill have to keep mowing over the rocks i sling shoot into the yard for awhile longer . hope daisy will give me refund cause this over $6? piece of plastic should of been used to make big plastic bat. i lost several bb and spent $6 on pellets i cant use or probably return.
