880 AIRRIFLE W/SCOPE

First had one of these some 40 years ago. The new one is almost exactly like it. Only difference I can think of is that the one I had decades ago had a metal pump arm. The new one has a polymer arm and yet still feels as stout as a metal one. I bought it primarily to shoot pellets for target practice and competition. With respect to pellets, using an indoor range limited to 4 pumps, it really hits pellet trap very hard and tight groupings. Not uncommon to get 4 of 5 shots so close together it looks like one large hole. I am very happy with the accuracy of using both iron sights and scope. Quality seems to be very good still. If there's one con, and this is a personal preference of mine, I just wished it weighed a little more. When firing from the standing firing position on 5-meter and 10-meter ranges, the rifle is very light feeling and that causes instability in trying to keep the aim steady. By contrast, I also have a Daisy model 1999 Western Sky bb gun that when filled with a few hundred bb's will make that bb gun weigh a bit more than the 880, which then makes it easier to shoot from competition standing posture. If the 880 had another pound or two of weight, preferably towards the middle or front, this would be one of the best air rifles around. As it is, it's still 5/5 stars. From supported positions like prone, sitting, kneeling, or even using a bench rest, the 880 is extraordinarily accurate. If you're a competitive shooter, you'll like this amazing air rifle. And I like that it's a full-size feeling rifle in that it's exactly the same length and reach as my Rossi .22 rifle, albeit about 2 pounds lighter. I haven't used the scope as much as iron sights since scopes are banned in most competitions. However, using it around the house the scope seems to be fairly good quality. It has elevation and windage adjustments on scope just like a full-size rifle scope has. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see the 4x15 Daisy scope also had a focuser so that I can adjust it to my eye for a clear sight picture. Just remember to back off the lock ring a little, adjust to your vision, then tighten down the lock ring so it doesn't move. I was very impressed with that extra feature that I wasn't expecting. I'm very satisfied with this product and recommend to anyone who enjoys the sport of target shooting.

This is a decent really cheap pellet gun. its light, all plastic. The scope is useless. but with the open sights I've hit varmint. It's not super great at mortal shots in .177 so i went and upgraded to a gamo swarm .22 for hunting varmint. but this is a cheap plinker. only thing i dont like is pumping this 10 times a shot gets your wrists sore after a while.

1 Star removed from gun because Daisy keeps evolving each generation to cheaper materials and labor. 1 Star removed because the scope is complete garbage, especially the mounts which use weak, springy clamps that tilt the scope about 1/4" off center. The gun itself functions well. Hey Daisy, move 'em back onshore and knock it off!

The air rifle is satisfactory. The problem is that my wife does not want me to have it for various reasons. I thought that I would be able to just return it to keep peace in the house. Unfortunately, I came to find out that the item is not returnable. I did not see that on the Walmart website when I ordered the rifle, but it is there. Will have too look more closely when buying online to see if an item is returnable.

The gun I received and the gun advertised are not the same gun and then I find out it is not returnable!! The gun I ordered in the online picture is black and a 880S, the gun I got is brown and a 880. This equals false advertising in my opinion Item was shipped in the box it comes in and arrived tattered and torn up! This is a Christmas gift from a grandparent on a fixed income and a big Walmart fail! I’ll use Amazon from now on.

It’s poorly made. Walmart should have picked a vendor that stood by their product you can’t even return it. I’ve had it less than 24hrs been used to see of that works and it does not. Tried to return and the csr said it’s out of their control I would not be getting my money back.

I picked up for curbside and literally right away I noticed the box was beat up, opened it and low and behold the actual metal barrel was bent! I asked the curbside employees what can they do and they say to go inside, once inside the manager says she can't do anything about it! Like what?! I get it's against policy to return an air rifle but it was purchased already damaged, there has to be something that can be done!? Super frustrating experience. I have not written one review ever in my life until now.

this isnt what daisy sold 50 yrs ago, what happened to quality, this is absolutely worthless, the bee bee just rolls out of the end of the barrel no matter how many rimes u pump it up, i payed 63 dollars for this so poorly made... daisy and Walmart should be ashamed... GARBAGE PRODUCT....

I think your stupid policy SUCKS ! I bought this gun by mistake for a child's Christmas gift. Picked up Friday at local store and tried to get money back so I can buy the one I need . I am poor disabled and need the $60 I spent . I will NEVER ORDER FROM WAL MART AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW ! Shame one you for taking poor people money !!! I worked at Walmart years ago and we took back dead fish dead plants used deodorant etc . This is a brand new item never opened or even taken out of my car ! I'm so so disappointed in Walmart ! This is why people like my grown son with a family of 5 refuses to shop at Walmart ! Shame on you !

Terrible! Hits all over the place, not even grouped. No amount of adjustments to the sights can solve that problem. Just as bad with pellets as BBs. I really regret the purchase as it isn't returnable and the warranty only gives you a replacement. Why would I want the same problem back!? Don't buy, unless you just like making noise.
