I have had several atomic clocks that you needed an engineering degree to set up. This clock sets itself up. No manual setting needed. I am thrilled. The two things that would make it better is a larger physical size. I can see time, indoor temp, day and time fine but the clock itself could be bigger in overall size. The other thing would be an outside temperature reading. I went with this clock because of the name Timex...they are made simple and they are dependable.
Got this for my sons dorm room. I was impressed with fact of it stating in large numbers....of course the time, but the DATE, AND DAY, AND TEMP. GOOD FOR THEM TO SEE AT A GLANCE FROM THE BED TO SEE THE TIME! Sure they will be looking at how hot the rooms get!!!
Perfect!
Updated the atomic time in just a few minutes. Would like to see it offered in different colors, not just black. Working well so far in the humidity of our bathroom.
This was a replacement so I knew what I was getting
I recently bought this clock after my previous Timex Atomic clock quit keeping time after 4 yrs. I had become so depended on it that I went to purchase another, but the store did not have the one I wanted to replace (Regular clock face). I bought this digital model. It is fine except that it is very difficult to read because it is not lit. Not to mention that at night it is useless. I would like the old model back.
As with the other reviews, this clock has limited use without any back light. From most angles the background is dark grey - at most it gets to medium grey. This was purchased today for my 100 year old uncle and it is unusable. Perhaps the store will take it back...
I bought this clock because I have known Timex to be a very reliable brand over the years. Unfortunately, it seems that if there is a bad item on the shelf I am always the one who gets it. This is a great looking clock and just the right size for where I wanted to hang it but it would not work right out of the box. It's control buttons would not respond when pressed. I even gave it over night to try to set itself as the instructions suggested and still nothing. I returned it the next day.
Not a timex, was an acu rite yet advertised as a timex
Don't waste your money. To be accurate (if even then), you have to point the clock facing some point in Colorado - how the heck am I supposed to know which way Colorado is when I'm standing in the office??!!?!? We have about 20 of these in our office, with the intention of having synchronized time, and I swear all of them have different times! In addition, you have to wait SEVERAL minutes after changing the batteries to allow the clock to reprogram. This turned out to be very disappointing!
