WOW! 96/4 at Walmart! 🙂

karyn February 2, 2026

I was absolutely thrilled to find this 96/4 at Walmart! It was only a few cents more than 93/7 and 90/10. Of course, the grade that you choose will be contingent upon what you are planning to do with it. I feed my tiny little dog raw ground sirloin as her Veterinarian recommended it because she has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and low hemoglobin after having suffered a major stroke due to a bad veterinarian giving her a shot that she wasn't supposed to have at the base of her spine. She almost died from what they did to her and her nutrition has been a great focal point ever since and proper nutrition has proven instrumental in her recovery. I was absolutely thrilled to find this at Walmart! It is jam-packed with the dense nutrition that she needs. I divide the 1 lb package into fifths, she's a very tiny Maltese so she gets 1/5th of a pound for dinner. I take the rest of the portions and package them with my Nesco food sealer where they stay very fresh for her next meal.

Great taste and less grease

Robert March 9, 2026

I like to buy the ninety six percent meat and four percent fat because there's a lot less grease, and the taste is just better. I buy the high meat, lower fat for certain meals I cook. I do use the 80/20 for hamburger helper and tacos, and you can easily tell the difference in the amount of grease.

I love this ground beef it's nice to not have to drain alot of grease off the meat !! Now if you could only give a later date for the meat when placing an online order !!! Sometimes I don't cook the other pack until later by that time the meat date has expired !!!! Thank you

Sometimes bone fragments/hard tendon pieces

Me July 5, 2025

I order this every two weeks unfortunately the burger is really good one time I get it but then the next time it's not good. I'm assuming it's who's ever working in the meat department. One of them is doing an awesome job but the other time there are bone fragments in it and like tendon type things in it which really makes me sick to my stomach. If I could figure the good week I would buy more and freeze it. It really sucks because it's not cheap.

Walmart beef is definitely not their strong suit

chris November 1, 2025

Truthfully for the cost, it's nothing great. You're better off going to a local meat market or butcher. Not really, a fan of Walmart beef. It's excessively red colored, which, of course is not natural. Beef by nature starts to oxidize and turn brown/ grey when air hits it. This does not so it goes without saying there's additives that cause it from happening . With the cost of meat and beef I don't see the value there Price point it's equivalent to practically anywhere else

Too close to Use By Date

Shopper23 July 15, 2025

This was picked up at 6:00 pm on July 12. When I got my order home and was putting the food away, i noticed that the Use By Date was 7-13-2025. Really? We had plans for Sunday, so I couldn't cook it then. Now it's in the freezer until I figure out Plan B.

Not 96% lean

Sherri August 30, 2025

This hamburger was Not 96% lean and inedible for me. It was so full of sinew or stringy tendon that it made the texture unappetizing. Usually this hamburger is great. Unfortunately I got this one on delivery. Apparently my shopper didn't pay attention to detail.

The meat is full of mostly rodent mite eggs with their long stringy egg carriers. you can also see the larger eggs themself. They all look the same and are different than the fat in the meat. they have an awful taste and smell. My dogs love raw meat but if they smell the eggs they wont touch it. Thats unheard of for German shepards. Take and pull off a chunk of the meat and see the strings all thru it. look a little more and you'll find the awsome unedible eggs. ive even been bitten by the bugs in the food. If there is brown meat inside the meat, that's where the bugs themself have been indulging on the meats blood, that's what they survive off of! All the edible food or drinks, etc in your establishment has been contaminated with them. You're not the only place including restaurants and fast food places. There is no where that has edible food or drinks, including, bottled, canned, vacuum containers, etc. I mean its everthing edible or ment to be digested! It doesnt come from you, you are the end of the chain of events. it starts with the suppliers. people have become accustom to the slow increase of the bugsThey like rodent blood but if they have to they will get it anywhere they can, even people. You are taking them home with you and before you know it youll be infested with bitting tiny black and brown mites that most cant be seen with the naked eye. But you can take a magnifying glass and scan anything that looks abnormal on or in your food. you can see these larger tubes pushing their way(growing) out of most any food with what looks like little spikes growing out of it all around it. you can use a pointed utensil and dig them out. if they are hard to pull out means they are longer and some of the spikes have started attaching to the meat with blood. Not everything they are in has blood but they are looking for nourishment. i would seriously have someone to look into it for your safety. They say that rodents have increased 500% in the last year and nobody is doing anything to stop it. Our government knows about it and aren't or dont want to talk about it. Oh, I forgot , when they bite it could be one bug or a whole colony of them in one place which hurts with the bite then it will start itching and the more you scratch it the more it itches. I know this because I was a victim and now im bringing them home in my groceries. I lost 51 pounds in 2 1/2 months and was not trying and have been hospitalized twice for this for failure to thrive. I went from 150 pounds to 99 pounds and i still only weigh 110. There was nothing i could stomach to eat or drink so i was close to seeing my maker at that point. Id just hate for anyone to end up like me! Nobody seems to want to do anything. ive got gobs of photos of everything ive told you. some of it is disgusting. some of the larger tubes you can see the eggs thru it and the black bugs inside the eggs. Nobody seems interesting in it. Im out of space. I pray no one gets sick from them.

Taste is blah … I usually buy ground Chuck and it's by far the best. Chuck Flavor is great. Doesn't require any seasonings . Makes great burgers Not like this meat. I made a meatloaf with this meat, and I kept thinking something was missing … yeah the ground Chuck. This meat tasted flat. Will not buy again.
