Purchased one beginning of 2020, but with Kohler engine. So far have about 100 hours on it and it has been working perfectly fine. Put some Versa Turf tires on it and have been very happy with the performance. Use it year round in South Florida
I run a small turf airport in N Texas. I bought the Apex 60" to maintain our runway, and our apron area. Approx 17 acres of grass. This is been the greatest investment for us in many years. It runs fast and true, cuts well, and is easy to stay in the seat for a few hours every week. I've accidentally bumped into a concrete bollard, and there was no damage to the deck or frame, just my pride got wounded. Tires hold up, deck clutch engages without fail, and I don't worry about my back after I've done the whole place. I can adust the runway for low cut, and the apron for higher cut with ease. Well worth the investment. Never go back to a front engine riding mower.
Absolutely incredible mower. I have a little under 2 acres to mow that's very hilly and bumpy. My old riding mower with a 48in deck took 3.5-4.5 hours depending on how tall /wet the grass is, and after all that the lawn didn't even look that great. My first time out on the Ariens I mowed the entire property in 1.5 hours and now I'm shaving even more time off the more I get used to it, plus it looks like a golf course now. I was a little nervous after reading that some people have had issues but that's consistent with every mower you look at. I was at the point last year where I was so frustrated that I thought about paying for a mowing service but now I love mowing and look forward to it. Very happy with this purchase, if you're on the fence just go for it, you'll be happy you did!
I chose this mower because of all the positive reviews. Even professional landscapers had nothing negative to say about this machine. In fact, they raved about how it was a commercial machine in a residential cloak. My first impression was that this machine was obviously built to last. From the engine to the frame and everything in between, high quality is evident throughout. I have about 7 hours on the machine as of this review (6/8/22). It starts, runs and performs flawlessly. I found just one improvement that I'd recommend. The flexible crankcase oil drain line is too short and also difficult to access. As installed, it will be nearly impossible to perform an oil change without getting oil on the frame or chassis of the mower. A simple solution would be to install a longer drain line which would allow it to be positioned directly above a waste oil container. I plan to make this modification at my first oil change. Otherwise, this machine meets my expectations for a mower in this price range.
I now have 15 hours on the meter. I am very pleased with this 60 inch zero-turn. This is my first zero-turn; it took one or two times mowing to get used to it, but I really like it. I have reduced the time it takes to mow by about 20 to 25 percent. It does a very nice job of mowing; the lawn looks good. I like the ease of adjusting the cutting height; no guesswork! The seat is comfortable and I like the armrests; I keep my arms on them while I mow because it helps me mow in straighter lines. I bought the hitch mounted on back because I use the mower to pull a 30 gallon sprayer that I use for my fruit trees; also use it to pull a two-wheel cart.
Have only 10 hrs. so far but this thing is impressive! It replaced a very good 60" Swisher that was getting long in the tooth and is superior in almost every way so far. My only mild complaint would be that the towing hitch should have been integrated instead of being an add on. Other than that, this thing is smartly designed.
I recently bought this to replace my Bad Boy ZT Elite. This is a great machine. Much quieter than the Kohler engine that was giving me issues for 3 years. The transmissions are beefier and faster, plus when you push them forward, it takes off for sure. The machine is well thought out I feel for mowing ergonomics. I would give it a 5 star, but no doubt maintenance on the engine will be rough because there isn't much room to get hands in to do much. Instead of angeling the back in, it probably should be squared off back. The oil dipstick is blocking the right side hydro reservoir. The oil filter can't easily be gotten to. I will probably get used to it first few changes but we will see. This is only a minor thing, I love this machine already and look forward to cutting the 10 acres I have with it.
This is a great machine, cut quality is second to none. The only thing stoping me from a 5 star rating is the fact that there are no suspension seat options for this mower. Some of the areas I need to cut have some ruts and this machine will beat you up a bit. I will need to look into an aftermarket seat vs a factory option. Other than that it’s been fantastic. At 30 hours on the meter, I cut around 7-8 acres weekly.
I've put less then 15hr on this thing and so far so good. The only thing that worries me is that I already have a small oil leak from the oil drain hose. I tried to tighten it and no luck. I'm thinking that when ever I go to change the oil I'm going to go ahead and remove it and put some high heat pipe dope or do way with it altogether. I can not give a full review with out bring that up. Besides that this thing is a monster and I'm finally able to keep my property in check!!
I needed a new mower for my home. I do ground maintenance for a county where I live and we use nothing but commercial mowers. I was looking for a mower with commercial features but not a commercial price and this one really fits the bill. It has a beautiful cut while smoothly dispatching the clippings, no lump and clumps. It has plenty of power for mowing taller, thick grass. I am also impressed with the heavy duty frame and deck. My only disappointment is the seat could use some springyness but like I said it's not a commercial mower, but it's pretty darn close. Overall it's well worth the money.
