A and E Cage Co. Large Playtop Cage-White

[...]. I have bought a few cheap wrought iron cages [...]and you really do get what you pay for, but this cage, [$]??? It is really worth it and you won't find this model anywhere else cheaper, I've looked. All the screws fit, no chipping of paint or bent wires. Sandstone color is very pretty and neutral. I love that I went with the sandstone color. My husband put it together in a little over a hour without the directions. Directions are not very detailed. Seed catcher does not extand very far from the cage, so you will still need a splat mat under the cage. The play top tray lifts off the top of the cage by a 1"", so you can still fit quick links inside the cage to hang toys. 1 thing I wish is for 2 toy hangers on top. Either end of the top perch has a hole, so you can decide which side to put the toy hanger and I want 2 of them. I am gonna try to contact all the sites that sell this cage to see if I can buy an extra toy hanger in sandstone.I bought min e for my TAG. I would say it's the perfect size for a TAG or other bird around that size. I am very happy with going with this cage and not spending the extra $200 for a Prevue or AA cage. The quality of this cage is top notch for the price.Give it a try :)Melissa

It's a quality cage for a decent price. It needs better instructions on assembly and it needs a bigger door.

The cage once I put it together is a very nice roomy cage for a small - medium bird and play stand on top is very nice too. It was delivered within time frame and was packed well so I had no damage. The only problem came when I opened the directions and they do not explain what bolts screws go to what parts. I had to figure that out on my own. Which made it more complicated. Luckily i am very good at putting things together so I managed after a few tries. In the end it is a very nice cage for a great value. It would be nice if they added a grate at the bottom so u could store r newspaper and feed.

Wish I had purchased this stainless steel cage years ago. So much easier to clean and will not rust like my previous cage. Cage arrived in pristine condition. Had a problem with the breeder door latch and Don at A&E cages quickly sent out a replacement door plus a complimentary bird toy. Great customer service from A&E! I was worried about buying an expensive cage without seeing it, however it is perfect. I'm a 62 year old woman and had no trouble putting the cage together by myself, just looked at the diagram. If you're looking for a stainless cage with a play top for medium size bird this is a great buy!

Cages were shipped FEDEX and packaging was intact on arrival. Beautiful cages. Supposedly Sandstone (whitish) but have a pink tone that should fade to sand color. I love the pink but some may not. Texture of paint smooth and easy to clean. Wheels sturdy for the weight. Hayneedle did everything right as usual from great product to great shipping service. Everything on time. Cage capacity and bar spacing probably best suited for smaller birds. Quality products used.

I have a Sereve Macaw in the cage. There is more then enough room for the bird. I like the fact that it is on wheeles. It would be nice to have the option to put storage under the cage.

The play top bird cage is great. Light weight, easy to clean large inside with plenty of room for a conure or Grey or cocktoo. Instruction sheet that came along with the 2 boxes was little to NO HELP in putting it together! However, I contacted A & E CAge Company and they walked me through it. The only bad thing was the top panel on top of the cage just sits in a groove it does NOT attach in anyway. A Large bird like a macaw could possibly push it up and escape. Other than that is is a wonderful cage for my 28 year old Conure!

I purchased this cage for my Quaker parrot. The assembly directions were a joke, but my husband figured it out on his own and assembled the cage in about an hour. We purchased the sandstone color, and it has more of a pink tint to it than I had expected. It doesn't look too bad now that the whole thing is assembled and filled with toys. Some of the parts came bent, but it doesn't affect the use of the cage. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. Piper, my Quaker, is really enjoying the space and especially loves the playstand on top!

The cage is nice and roomy and well built. The directions are poor but it is very easy to figure out. I like the 2 pull out trays for the top play area and below. My seed skirts came bent and damaged from the shipping but truthfully, I as going to use a seed skirt as I don't want the extra room the metal skirt takes up, I do not like how wide the wood perch is. Other than that, I love the color choices. I went with sandstone which is a true beige color.

I bought this for a sleep cage for my African Grey parrot. I confess, price was a big factor in my decision and I should allow for that. The company touts that they are a ""family company in the US making products"", but this cage is made in China and it shows. Firstly, it comes with no usable instructions! You can struggle through the assembly using a photograph, or you can go to Windy City Parrot website and find a great video on how to put together several brands of cages. I have a few issues with the cage, mainly that there are gaps that could possibly cause injury to a curious parrot. If that becomes problematic I'll get rid of it and buy a better constructed cage from another company.
