It's not the original so don't expect it to be....
It's a good movie on it's own terms, but it's not the original. If you don't expect it to be a clone of the first one then you will probably like it. I enjoyed it a lot and it does follow the same type of formula that the original established. Don't forget the original follow up "It Runs In The Family" as well. When you have an iconic film such as the original, it's hard to get past the characters being played by new actors...so...if you can't get past that, you won't like it. If you enjoy the type of story that the original was and don't expect it to be "exactly" like the first one, then you will like it. I like it, my kids loved it. I thought it was nice to see the old characters revived for a new movie.

Great movie
This movie was an extension of the original and I really enjoyed it. It is one of the few family movies that is really enjoyable. Great movie.

SHOCKED AND STUNNED!!!!
I AM SO INCREDIBLY SHOCKED AND STUNNED THAT THEY CAN ACTUALLY PUT THIS OUT AS A FOLLOW UP MOVIE TO THE CLASSIC MOVIE THAT PRECEDED THIS ONE!!! WOW WHAT CAN I SAY BUT I AM JUST HORRIFIED AT THE ACTING,STORY,AND NONE OF THE ORIGINAL CAST ! WHAT A LET DOWN..... =(
