A-Sha Meteor Noodle with Dan Dan Sauce (12 Packs), Spicy Soy Sauce and Sesame Paste

I LOVE dan dan noodles. They're my favorite food! The only restaurant local to me that served them got closed down during covid and ever since I've been looking for a replacement. I'm able to make pretty good dan dan noodles at home, but it's expensive to get the ingredients for that around here so it's a rare treat. Instead, I look for cheap and convenient alternatives. I have searched for and tried many different brands, and this one is by far the best. Pros: -savory and well seasoned, but not too salty -sauce beautifully coats the noodles -chewy noodles, way better than any fried ramens you'll find -real sesame flavor Cons: -not much spice to speak of, needs the addition of some chili crunch! -sesame paste is like a little dry brick and you need to warm it up and mix it into a sauce. it's also difficult to get out of its packet. i cut mine open and scrape all of the paste out with a butter knife -could use a bit more sesame paste, but when I don't have any I just add a teaspoon or so of peanut butter and it works amazingly. -difficult to find! walmart, please restock! I just bought a 24 pack off of the a-sha website because it's never available on here :( i waited for months!

The noodles are great. We have ordered then several times and always enjoy them. However, the packaging was not done well. Because the 2 boxes of the product would not fit in the larger shipping box they had opened and dumped the noodle packs in the box and then folded the outter box and placed it on top. 2 stars for shipping

Best instant ramen for the price point. Noodles are not fried so you don't feel sick after eating. Sauce packet ingredients are relatively decent, not too much sodium.

Shocked how delicious these were! We have had the Danzai sauce version but honestly the DanDan sauce might be my favorite with the sesame oil taste. Their noodles have the best squish and texture and are cooked almost like angel hair pasta and drained, but have a very satisfying chew and moutfeel. Highly recommended

I like to try a variety of noodles and these were different than the usual instant noodles. Great flavor! Need to buy again.

I was looking for a lower calorie Ramen and these delivered. Note however that this product is still high in sodium and carbohydrates.

First of all the claims about 'ridges' that will carry more sauce and flavor are nonsense -- why?? The very tiny ridges on one side of the extruded flattened/ovoid noodles are way too small to do anything. These tiny ridges vanish as the noodle swells and cooks. The sauce is a skillfully spiced miso paste. Not hot by any means, it is barely a one star spice experience but very nice in my opinion. Each noodle pack contains a foil sachet of this thick paste. This paste is not excessively salty like miso soup can be. It takes a bit of stirring to get the paste to dissolve and become a sauce. That final step is acceptable in my opinion. The best thing about these is how they are baked or dried but not fried. They do take twice as long to cook, maybe even three times as long if you want them soft, so plan accordingly. A cross section cut of the cooked noodle is a bulging oval, not flat but not round. They should have called the sauce a seasoned miso paste to avoid confusion. Ramen fans know what that is. I bought this box on a markdown. I usually use the affordable fried ramen noodles but sometimes a change is nice when you make ramen 150 times a year. If you are having shrimp or diced chicken with these noodles I suggest you mix the flavored paste into the small pot with the cooking meat. That way there is no separate step of dissolving the paste into the finished noodles, you just combine the noodles and sauced meat and bob's your uncle. Personally I like some added seaweed in this kind of dish, dried wakame bits can be added to the shrimp and paste before serving. Toasted sesame seed or a sprinkle of furikake makes a tasty garnish. So would mung bean sprouts or spring onion. A point worth considering is how long the shelf life of these is. Dried noodles keep for years and foil pouched miso paste keeps a very long time at room temperature. Make some when the notion strikes you.

Cooked one package out of the box this, had to add things to get any flavor. Did cook the noodles about 3 minutes longer , for softer texture, then the noodles were fine. Then drained noodles and added sauce packets, very blah taste and sesame paste was very dry. Added Hosen.and soy sauce for more flavor

DID NOT SEE OR READ WHERE IT HAD A SHORT USE BY DATE, CAN NOT EAT THREE CASSES IN A MONTH AND A HALH. I DON'T THINK I WILL PURCHASE AGAIN FROM WALMART. FIRST BAD EXPERIANCE I HAVE HAD WITH WALMART

My husband loves noodles and prepared them as the recommendation on packaging. He took one bite and was gagging; said noodles tasted like play dough. He came to pour the broth in the sink near me and the smell was awful.
