just a grrat classic album
Sounds great. My father loves it.
The first copy of the record I purchased from a different retailer had a terrible layer of "static/distortion" in the treble. However, this one from Walmart sounds great. The remastering sounds fantastic and the vinyl is relatively quiet. Well worth the purchase.
Vinyl sounds amazing. The Giles Martin vinyl is pulled from the original Beatles master tapes and newly produced to pull out the sound. Good instrument separation. Not as good as sgt. Pepper but still an amazingly good production. And for under $20 its a must own.
great album
This was on sale for less than $14, so definitely worth the price. This particular remaster is OK. Not great, but not bad either. If you are a casual Beatles fan, go ahead and buy. If you are a hardcore audiophile Beatles fan, you may want to look for a different version. Packaging and vinyl is also very nice.
Sounds awesome (SL1200G, Dynavector DV 20X2L, Waxwing phono stage, RME ADI Pro, Dynaudio etc) - except side b is super noisy. What a huge let down. This happens waaay too often with LPs I order through Wally for some reason - I've had to return a copy of St Peppers (the exchanged one is good), White album, and more from Film School, Zero 7, Tame Impala, etc. I have used VG vinyl from 70s/80s/90s that sounds better. Expected much better for an anniversary vinyl pressing from the premier band of all time.
The record has 2 scratches that make the needle skip. If this was new, it was not manufactured very well.
I just found out it was 180-gram vinyl. Walmart did not say it in the online ad. I bought thinking it was not since they did not say so. Walmart needs to do a better job about selling their vinyl. I ordered other ones that did not say they were 180-gram vinyl and yet to open them. Are they 180-gram too? Also, the ad did not give details on why the 25th anniversary edition was different enough to buy. They need someone who is into vinyl to help with the add because they seem clueless what the vinyl community is looking for.
Upon receipt of anticipated album, it arrived warped and was unable to play. Walmart was excellent in the return process, making it easy for me to return in store opposed to obtaining a label and returning to the FedEx store. This process helped me considerably being that I am disabled with a walking deficiency. Thank you Walmart.
