I almost didn't buy this because of the cost but I'm so glad I did. I use the remote to open, I always leave it on the handle for safe keeping plus it has a magnetic back. The first time I left it open a storm blew through in the middle of the night and I was worried because I just bought it left it open, it automatically closed and was fine. I love mine and so glad I bought it.

This is by far, the nicest umbrella I've ever owned. The features are great, the size is great, and we caught it on sale, which was great! The only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is the fact that there's no manual way to raise the umbrella as a backup or alternative to the powered option. It is powered only. The batery power is great but if something were to ever happen to the motor that raises it, forget it... It'll just be a super nice door stop at that point. As long as that doesn't happen, then I am a very satisfied owner of this thing! Lol

Excellent patio umbrella! The days of cranks and worries about the wind when the umbrella is up is over! Push button up/down, and a light that is awesome. It WILL actually close automatically if the wind is over 16mph. Sturdy construction and great material!

Just as described, this umbrella is ten feet tall and works easily with the remote. I haven't had it up in the wind to see if it really closes by itself, but I'm sure it will. The only drawback is that I bought it for a patio table. The sun came right underneath because this umbrella is tall but doesn't tilt. So I replaced my market umbrella with this tall one. It's so easy to use and my market umbrella was difficult to open. I bought a cranking/tilting umbrella, also from Sam's Club to use at the table. The colors are close, not a perfect match, but I'm a very satisfied and happy customer.

9' Above Height patio umbrella is perfect for me. It's a very well made umbrella, the pole and frame are heavy duty steel with a dark brown color. The fabric is thick material and is made by Sunbrella, I have Sunbrella cushions and they definitely repel moisture. The remote is great, I leave it on my kitchen windowsill and every evening how nice to close umbrella so easily and no worry of an overnight storm, live in Florida so we have them often. Can't comment on the wind sensor yet, only had the umbrella for a month and right now we're in a drought. Also, have not used the manual release, just haven't had need for it. My only complaint would be the remote, as well-built as the umbrella is, and as important as the remote is, it is just standard quality, just a little concerning with longevity.

This is the best one yet! Works every single time I try it. Yes, it will automatically close when a gust of wind blows. Definitely worth the investment.

This umbrella was expensive at first look. But the features make it worthwhile. If you've ever had an umbrella catch the wind and tip over or blow away, and get damaged, you'd appreciate the feature that it closes all by itself. The push button open / close is fun and fast. The light is soft enough as to not attract bugs, and bright enough to visit comfortably.

Umbrella did not work when assembled. After spending days moving it to ensure it was in sufficient sunlight to charge it and disassembling and reassembling it a dozen times, out of desperation I opened the remote unit, not an easy task due to having to unscrew both outside and inside screws, to find out it had shipped with a dead battery. The umbrella also closes with just a gentle breeze.

Quit working on day two. You cannot open this umbrella manually so when the remote stops, it is unusable. It worked fine on the first day, then it wouldn't open on the second day. Very poor design to have no manual option and it relies on a cheap remote.

Worse purchase ever! Worked one day and then quit. Emergency release would not turn at all. Numerous contacts with company (only accepts email) were useless and answers were days in coming. Finally got the umbrella to close but the light still does not work. Too much trouble to return so stuck with umbrella that doesn't work half the time and a light that won't work at all.
