ACME Deoss Chest in Walnut

I was very pleased with the timely delivery of the chest. Initially, I was disappointed, because the colors in the chest are not as they appeared online. The chest is mostly dark brown, with areas of a lighter brown and tan....not the reddish oak colors advertised. The instructions were a bit challenging to follow, as there were mostly diagrams, and very few words. After assembling the chest, I was pleased with the sleek, modern look, and modified my color scheme to match. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

The entire thing is compressed sawdust. One of the braces on the back busted while screwing it to the dresser. Design is great. Drawers are deep enough. Assembly was pretty easy. I mean if you're not going to be moving it much then go ahead and get it. The drawer faces, top and sides are somewhat harder composite and sturdy but none of it is real wood. I'll be keeping it, mostly because of the design and size. It could be 20-25$ cheaper.

I've never written a review before, but reviews are how I choose to buy something so I wanted to say something honest about this dresser. It gets two stars because it looks SUPER COOL. And that's it's. That's the only reason I didn't return it. When I very first put this together and slid it across the room one of the legs broke off. Not just the screws came out or the leg broke, the screws TORE OUT of the particle board. Maybe that's my fault, maybe not....but don't do what I did. I ended up just taking all four legs off instead of trying to fix it. But the legs are part of what makes it so cool. After having this for about 6 months, I'm pretty disappointed over all. The biggest disappointment is that it's very flimsy. If I try and move it, even just a couple of inches to get something behind it, it's rocks back and forth. It feels like it's going to fall apart. Even if my tiny, less than 10 pound cat jumps on it....it rocks back and forth. 0/10 for being a solid piece of furniture. The second biggest problem to ME is that once the drawers are in, you can't take them out. So if you want to move, you just have to deal with the drawers in. But based on my first problem of its flimsy-ness, I'm not sure you could take this in a move without it breaking. The last thing is that the drawers just won't stay shut. I've tried shuffling things around. Making sure over and over that they're not over filled. They just won't stay shut. They roll open about a inch. Overall I just wish I would have done more research before buying this. There are several things I could have bought in its place that look close to as cool and are at the same price point.

After less than a year of use, this dresser is quite literally falling apart. The drawers pop out of place if you even look at them funny. The mechanism they use to hold drawers in place is a metal bar (good) with a plastic connector (bad) that is not secured and just falls right off. If its just for show, it is very pretty. However, if you intend to actually use it, I highly suggest buying a different dresser.

I purchased 2 of these dressers (Acme Furniture Deoss Chest with five drawers) in walnut for my husband and I. Although they look great they are super flimsy. My purchase was on September 2, 2020 right after we purchased our home. They started falling apart this August 2021. One drawer at a time within a month. The mechanism used to open and close these drawers are awful. I currently have 5 drawers (between both dressers purchased) sitting on the floor while I find the right size ball bearing rods for them, which has been difficult to find. We purchased 3 different types thus far and they don't fit. We will continue trying in order to get a little more life out of these dressers before we purchase new ones. They also scratch easily so you need to be super gentle when placing items on them. These are definitely over priced. I wish the quality was better. The look was exactly what I wanted.
