This charger was purchased for my solar powered recumbent trike. It has allowed me to add an extra 250 watts to my trike for a total of 500 watts of solar panels. Both the 10A and 20A waterproof chargers have allowed me to travel over 600 miles without having to plug in to an external power source. This trike has sat out in the rain and sun for more than seven months without any problems, the last two months with the 20A charger attached. Both chargers have handled triple digit heat and below freezing temperatures without any problems. I would recommend this charger to anyone needing a good 12V or 24V charger for high humidity areas.
Bought the Voyager to replace the Wanderer that I had. I like the benefit of it being waterproof and having the builtin monitoring system . My wander did not have. Never a problem with either but do like the voyager for my use of charging two 6v batteries with a 100 watt panel.
Purchased this controller for a batter power box I put together. I attached this to a Renocy 12V 50ah Lithium battery and a 750W modified sine wave inverter. I attached short (in length) solar connectors, for attaching solar panels, and I connect the inverter with alligator clips to the battery. Controller gives all the essential readings I need to ensure the charge level of the battery and the charging rate, when connected to my Renogy solar panel for charging. Very satisfied with it's quality build and it's functions. Great job Renogy
I just finished a one week camping trip with my Solar Suitcase and Voyager controller. It worked perfectly and easily, keeping my trailer battery charged, even on overcast days. I am a senior citizen and was able to set it up and move the panels to keep them in the light.
I purchased this to replace the controller on my 100W solar suitcase, an upgrade for Lithium compatibility. Even when charging lead-acid batteries it seems to perform about 10% better than the non-waterproof controller I replaced. The display is useful and easily read. This form factor fits in the standard height afforded by a two-panel suitcase. This was my best option since MPPT controllers I am aware of are too large for solar suitcase mounting.
I am very happy with the Voyager being waterproof. It also works with my Lithium Ion battery, though not MPPT level. The price is outstanding, considering what MPPT controllers would run. When I attached it to my Renogy suitcase panel, I had to drill two new holes, but that was not difficult. Once connected, it was easy to follow the included directions to set for Lithium Ion batteries. It just WORKS, unlike the buggy ViewStar controllers which originally came with my suitcase solar. I am very happy with the Voyager 20A and highly recommend it.
Perfect a regulator that is water proof and can handle up to 10 amps. Daily charging of batteries greatly extends the lifespan of your batteries
I am very happy with my purchase. I did a lot of research before I bought. The quality and price were excellent.
Installed easily, seems to be performing well so far
I purchased this to replace the Wanderer charge controller on our 100W Renogy solar suitcase because I needed to: 1) have a waterproof charge controller so I do not have to worry about sudden rain storm when in use; and 2) have the ability to charge both Lithium and Lead Acid batteries. The only issue in this retrofit is that the temperature sensor is way off ... like 50º lower than the actual temperature. It was off on the Wanderer as well, but usually within 10-15 degrees. Therefore, using a temperature sensor with either of these two is pretty well useless. Thus my 4 star rating.
