Importance of characters
Horowitz is a master of creating characters. In Foyle, he's on his game. Being a war child myself, my relatives fought in WWII. That generation lived through a major transition as do the characters in the Foyle series. I can relate to the personal struggles that war brought into each person's life. Some came through bruised but intact; others changed dramatically. Through the pressures of war, Horowitz creates characters that flaunt the law for personal gain while others rise to sacrifice for others. Foyle is one of those characters. It is a must see.

We totally enjoy any Foyle's episode. Well written, superb acting & production. It is a wonderful series enjoyed by women & men alike. Really great entertainment. My husband & I settle in for an episode as if we were off to a movie at the the theater. I recommend this series wholeheartly.

Set 2 of Foyle's War
The entire series was great. I especially like Sam, and the rest of the cast give wonderful performances also. Very suspenceful.
