AcuRite 00509 Color Weather Station with Count Temperature/Humidity/Forecast,Black and White

It does exactly what it is supposed to do, give a quick look about the about the weather

Very satisfied with this product. The secondary weather readouts are there, and visible, but they are scaled down in size, and do not distract your view from the large primary outdoor temperature readout that occupies approximately the upper 1/3 of the panel. That is what I want to see first, and often, and from a reasonable distance. This one meets that requirement. An important parameter that is missing, plus/minus temperature accuracy (the sensor), to a calibrated reference would be nice to know, but I will not lower my rating on this omission. After reading the sidebar I will contact customer service/support about that.

It was extremely easy to set up. and it works great I love everything about it. I will buy one for my son. And I would recommend this product for anyone Who is in the market for a Weather Station.

This is my second Acu>Rite weather instrument I have bought over the years and both have worked flawless. I will continue to purchase their products.

The unit works well. Only one critique - the display is a little hard to see unless looking directly at the screen. No way to adjust the angle that the unit tilts back, placing the unit on a mantle makes viewing difficult. Set up was straightforward. Pretty much put in batteries, plug it in and the unit works.

Out side sensor died after three months. I bought this at Walmart, but they no longer have it in stock to return. No, lost receipt too. No matter what I do I can't get the sensor to work. First it went blank, second got it to read 77 degrees all the time and now it shows 81 degrees all the time!

I bought this for my mother and it lasted less than one year. The first thing that happened was the indoor display showed a constant 58 degree reading from the remote sensor. I changed the batteries and the base unit refused to reconnect with the remote unit. I contacted Acurite. They would send me a replacement remote sensor if I could find the receipt. But who keeps all the receipts for every item ever purchased? So I'm out of luck and will need to spend another $13 for a remote sensor. Oh, and they are back-ordered for about a month. No thanks. This junk is going in the trash and I going to go find a company that a) makes better products that last more than 6 months, and b) does a better job of standing behind their subpar products.

If I could give negative I would, but one star will have to do. I received this weather station as a gift at Christmas, but it hasn't worked since day-1; no outside functions. After calling a couple numbers 'no longer in service', I found one to work but the call wait/hold time was over 100-min. As a result, I initiated a chat through the website, and was sent a new outdoor sensor. Sensor #2 still did not solve the problem, and the unit is still not functioning. I tried the support line again last week, and call wait/hold time was over 300-min. and the chat function seems to be disabled. I initiated a return through the support page, but have not been contacted with an RMA#. Even if this unit worked, I can't say I would be excited about the corded power feature when you have to install batteries as well. I am not here to bash AcuRite, as I have used your products in the past, but I would like a solution. In todays age of customer focus, I would expect a better product, and better after-sales support. Time to step it up AcuRite.
