AcuRite Optimus Weather Station with Wi-Fi HD Display, Lightning Detection, Indoor/Outdoor Temperature & Humidity, Wind, and Rainfall (01216MCB)

Received my order with no problems. Set up the Optimus weather station about 4 weeks ago. Works great! Extremely accurate. Very easy to install and set up. The HD display is awesome! I got an AcuRite Now + subscription and it is well worth it. My weather station is now on Weather Underground. The solar panel has been working perfectly.

Our previous Atlas unit was getting old so we upgraded to the Optimus. We did need to "purchase" the license to use WeatherUnderground which we had been using for years with the old unit at no cost. That was a bit of a surprise, but.... Otherwise, the unit has been doing great and providing us the data we want.

I’m replaced an Atlas with the new Optimus. Very pleased with the new system. Just bummed that you offered a rechargeable battery pack a week after I ordered my new system.

"SO FAR"--it's worked perfectly.... Haven't had a Heavy Shower/Rain yet to Test.... Everything else seems to be OK... Had to Brighten the Display to be able to Read it... "Cons"----It don't connect to Wunderground... Myself and Friends all use Wunderground for our area reports...

I upgraded from the Iris with HD display. The outdoor 5 in 1 sensor is a step up. Unfortunately the display is missing one thing that I liked in the old unit. The forecast doesn't show chance of rain percentage. I really liked that. It seemed to be pretty accurate. The thing I like most about this unit is the ability to automatically turning off the screen at night. The old unit would light up the room even with the dimmer setting. It took me a bit to get used to the new display but I'm good with it now. Ugh, change. I'm only a few months into it but so far it seems pretty decent.

Works fine so far. Although it has a lightning detector, the results are sent to the unit inside the house. The old system where you could put the lightning detector outside the house by the pool to alert of impending lightning was a great option for me but evidently no longer available. Other issue is that the high temperature produced by the unit on any day with sunshine is quite a bit higher than the actual temperature. I have the device mounted on top of my screened in pool cage so it is about 15 feet off the ground and the temperature on sunny days is very high, 20 plus degrees higher than the temperature reported in the shade (or on tv/radio etc.).

Nice unit. My bad for assuming I could have historical data like my old 5-in-1. Optimus is a newer unit with nice features, Wi-Fi capability, would have 5 stars if it had historical capabilities also resulting in a wider audience. Again surprised the feature was removed being a flagship product.

Physically, the weather station is sleek and modern-looking. It is powered by the solar charged kit separately purchased and worked well down to near 0 F. The wind vane is not very robust to bird perching and was knocked off by a redwing blackbird trying to perch. It also seems not to be delivering real -time data every 3-5 minutes like the MyAcurite devices do. Is this a financial decision by AcuRite? I like my 5-in-1 better in this regard.

I haven’t installed my Optimus due to winter weather but I’m excited to get it up and running. My Atlas has been awesome over the many years I’ve owned it and I believe the Optimus will be as well. My only issue at this point is the app that has been created for the Optimus. At this point I’m under the impression that I won’t be able to view my data from my Windows 11 system and that is not good. Please build an app that will work on Windows systems as well as IOS.

Paid extra for a solar panel that came with the weather station, was supposed to work with it, but does not and cannot be connected to the outside weather sensor. Part numbers say it works, but it DOES NOT.
