AcuRite Self-Emptying Wireless Rain Gauge with Digital Display (01089MCB)

This little weather station has a lot going for it. It comes with a rain catcher that is very accurate, and also an external thermometer that you hang outside. All the information is instantly sent to the display monitor located in your house. It gives you the outside temperature and dew point, indoor temperature and dew point, and pressure. Great price for what you get.

Bought to replace an existing unit (same model) that has worked well for years. Sun and weather finally destroyed the rain gauge unit. This set was only slightly more than the rain gauge alone, so I'm back in operation and happy.

This was my third set of this item. That speaks for itself. The last one before the current one was knocked out by hail.

We had purchased a simular one a few years ago. We upgraded to this one for the new features of that not only includes the rainfall totals, but also includes the outside and inside temp and humidity.

I am a PhD meteorologist, with a specialty in precipitation development (snow, primarily, and hail). Being able to remotely measure precipitation rate and amount is very important to me. That is why I have the Acurate precipitation gauges (I have had four of them, currently I have two). I wouldn't be without them. They are accurate, and provide the remote measurement I like. The ones I have had work nicely, but at times I've had to reset them, and I'm not sure why this happens. Also, with snow, they do not provide a direct measurements of precipitation amount. One thought would be to provide an internal heater, which could be triggered remotely for a fixed time period, perhaps 10 minutes.

Looked like I got a returned item . More frustrated that a 5 star review was posted in my behalf when I returned the product. Comes in no formal packaging so could not gift.

I bought this one to place one unit that was several years old. I believe the Wi-Fi had failed on old unit. The new unit is a piece of junk. I keep losing Wi-Fi connection when it is over 20 ft , with clear line of sight view. I did put new batteries also. Rain gauge is set on 4 ft level post Beware of purchasing this unit.
