AcuRite Wireless Weather Station With Portable Lightning Detector (01011M)

Easily set up and established communication with outside unit. At first I thought the wind speed was not working. I went outside and the wind was not blowing. Very accurate. The lightning indicator could use a lower alarm setting. When you get 71 strikes in a short time we had to shut it off.

It was easy to install and works good. Only problem we had was finding a place where we could see monitor easily

Great little weather station. Had some problems setting up (no wind speeds) but tech support had me up and running in a short time. The directions and troubleshooting for the PC Connect were a little lacking. But other than that, very happy with it.

Picture shows that device works with APP to mobile phone/wifi. Does not.! Lightning detector seems to work but there is no sensitivity adjustment. I'm not really interested in lightning that is 25 miles away! [10 miles away, yes!]

Ho-Hum. Same technology, but the software and APP STINK! Unit works great, easy to install and calibrate and works well with the indoor Color WiFi station. That's where it ends - do not expect to see reading on your smart phone or on your desktop/laptop/tablet - I've tried all three! I do not think that AcuRite has updated software in 5-10 years. I actually whet back to the previous version - ~2003 (no longer available on the website), and it worked better. Update your software guys or stop selling this as a feature. I called twice, but was placed on hold or the call was dropped - not much interest in customer service. One other caveat, after 24-months the plastic housing of the outdoor weather station begins to deteriorate, turn yellow and crack due to sun exposure. This does not cause problems with the data sent to the indoor station, but any wind greater than 60-70 MPH will shatter the unit into a 1000 shards. A little metal here for the housing would go a long way in sturdiness. That why I bought a new one!
