A.D.: The Bible Continues (DVD)

I wasn't sure I was going to like this series as much as "Son of God". They used another actor to portray Jesus, (so surprised by that!) and I didn't recognize many of the other actors. I decided to watch anyway in the hope that it had been made well & draw me into the story. Can't tell you how happily surprised I was. Watching the character of Peter develop into the Apostle, (and the others too), brought the story from the Bible to life. The scene where the Apostles first say the Lord's Prayer together with such feeling brought me to tears. I could have recorded this, but wanted to make a contribution & support these kinds of quality projects.

AD is suprisingly accurate for Hollywood. It gives life to Biblical characters in a way that you feel what they went through. First rate cinematography and acting. A great production!

Put together really well.

Although this mini-series does not limit itself entirely to the Book of Acts, it is an enjoyable depiction of this time period. The historical bits are interesting and help to shed some light on what was going when the early Christians were starting the Church. Things might not be e x a c t l y biblical, but there aren't any super major discrepancies -- and I'm the person who sits while watching a movie on the bible and calls out "not biblical" over and over when the movie digresses from scripture!

Wonderful work and Walmart made it so easy to purchase and pick up the same days so that took care of one Christmas present that was not a hassle.

This DVD set is for those believers put there, mirroring the special series from TV, the DVD's came in their entirety with no cracks, easy to pop out of case.

I saw this series when it first aired on television and was disappointed that it was discontinued because I would have liked to have seen more. I've enjoyed re watching the series and I highly recommend it to both christians and non christians, because there is something for everyone in this series.

After finishing the Bible series, I watched this on tv. I did notice there were a new cast of actors, but that was fine. I also noticed this series had more of a diversity, which was also interesting to find out. This is one of few Bible stories in film version that is not boring. It is interesting and can keep your interest and focus all the way through. This is with an interesting plot, development, drama and everything. The story gave a new insight of what happened right after Jesus ascended into heaven. Good acting. I believe this is something that can be viewed by Christians and non-Christians. However, I was a bit disappointed how it was not entirely accurate to the bible. Some things were but not everything. Stephen's character was wrongly portrayed also Saul I wasn't a fan of and some things that was not according to the bible. Paul actually changed his name to Paul later on. His name was Saul at first. Paul/Saul and Stephen's portrayal and development was my least favourite. There were however interesting character developments. In spite of some inaccuracies, this is a great series that I would watch everyday all day.

I ordered online. It is a 4-disc set. The 3rd disc skipped then stopped playing in the beginning of the 2nd episode. Returned to store and got an exchange. The new set had the exact same problem in the exact same spot. I'm thinking that whole run of them is bad. Have to return this one now. I love this tv series and am so disappointed that the discs have been bad!
