The gate is made by Jewett Cameron. It is an excellent product for building a stable gate that won't sag due to its metal framing and anti-sag cable! The tricky thing is knowing how much to cut a 2x4 for the top and bottom in order to have the proper gaps between the gate and fence. It would be good to have a table for how much length of wood to cut for example gate width opening. For my situation, I used this kit to support the original fence material from an existing fence. Since the gate swings into the yard with the hardware provided, the gate kit would be at the back of a 4x4 post or 2x4 mounted on a metal post. This would make the gate recessed from the outside front face. In order to keep the gate outside face to line up with the original existing fence, I had to rotate the hinge bracket on the gate by 90 degrees to offset the gate closer to the middle of the 4x4 post. Then, I had to mount spacers between the 2x4's on the gate and the existing fence. After mounting the gate on the hinge, I could get it into place under the existing fence material, which would be supported when I cut the original fence open, adjust the positioning, and finally secure the fence material to the gate kit. The tricky thing is maintaining about an inch gap between the gate and the fence for the latch kit side or you may find the latch being too close to the latch catch side. The reason I had to keep the original fence material for the gate was because of our Home Owners Association (HOA) rules and requirement for this project. The other thing is that I am glad Walmart offered the shipping to Hawaii, even though it was about $36 to $40, because Home Depot and Lowes carried a similar product but did not have any in stock or shipping to Hawaii, only to 48 contiguous states. A final note is I had a 2x6 on the top of the fence and the gate had a slight conflict when I initially tried to swing it open, which required a little shaving off the fence, then it was fine! Again, it may depend on the gap on the latch side.
Easy to assemble and setup. Is working perfectly fine. Have had it for nearly 6 months now.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Adjust-A-Gate Front Gate Series has been a capable and easy-to-install addition to our soon-to-be-finished honeybee yard. Overall, the instructions were relatively easy to follow. Make sure to read them before you begin, as there's prep work (setting 4x4 posts, etc) to complete before assembling the gate. Three things are critical (and the instructions mention this) but make sure that your 4x4 posts are not bowed, are set level, and are set apart wide enough to compensate for the mounts and lock. All of the hardware that is needed to complete the gate is included. I did not use the included gate latch since I needed to hide the entry method to keep children out of the bee yard and instead used a hidden latch on the back of the post. I opted to use 2" deck screws of my own to mount the 4' boards to the front. Go slowly, check your level, and measure constantly and the gate should assemble quickly. I was impressed by the optionality of the size that the gate allows (up to about 4.5 ft wide). Overall, this is an excellent solution when you need to customize a gate to your unique fence.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking for a product to use in order to redo my gate for the hinges. This worked out perfectly. I was able to easily install this product and it definitely made my gate look and feel a whole lot better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As pet sitters, a reliable and robust gate is essential for ensuring the dogs we care for stay safely contained outdoors. The "Adjust-A-Gate" is constructed from heavy-gauge steel, providing exceptional strength and preventing any sagging issues. Assembling it was a breeze, thanks to the included hardware and parts, making the whole setup process hassle-free. Living in Florida, rust resistance is a crucial factor for us, and this gate meets that requirement. With its versatile design, this kit accommodates gate openings ranging from 36 to 60 inches wide and fences up to 4 feet in height. Its adjustable sizing feature ensures it can adapt to fit most openings effortlessly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time using this incredible product, to reinforce my side gate. My side gate is a bit weathered and bowed. This excellent product, was very easily installed. Quality product! Great value top. My gate is strong and straightened now. Thank you! It fits perfectly!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Adjust-A-Gate Steel Frame Gate Building Kit is just what I need for my backyard. I had a fence put up all around for my dogs but needed the gate to close it in. It's super easy to install and the instructions are easy to read. The gate kit is durable and kinda stylish. A great high quality product. It's secure and safe and I highly recommend this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit for a fence gate is an innovative new approach. Typically, your fence gate situation, like mine, is you are going to have to build it from scratch to make it fit. This new kit allows you to adjust the size of the gate up to 40" high and anywhere from 30"-60" wide. Super good idea and very practical.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have constructed many fences and gates before. I regret to say until recently I have never used an adjust-a-gate. Now that I have, I do t think I will ever build another gate without it. It is easy to use and makes a gate much sturdier than normal. Keeps it where your gate won't sag after a few years. The fact that it adjust to any size from 36” to 60” makes it usable on majority of gates. If you are about to build a fence, then be sure to use an adjust-a-gate to construct your gate. It is well worth it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really do not want to bash a product because of my in-expertise. I found this gate frame was quite difficult to put together. I am not an expert, but have put many things together by following the instructions. This seemed a little more difficult than it should have been, but maybe that is just me.
