We were at a campground over Thanksgiving, and the power pole was shorting out, and our surge protector protected us and shut our travel trailer down, it happened three times before we moved to another site. I believe if it wasn't for the surge protector, it would've been a different story.

Defective unit
Took this item out of the box and hooked it up for the first time… gave an error code 9: Surge Protection Exhausted. I'll be returning it. Also, the clear lid that closes over the plug doesn't latch well enough to stay closed.
