Would have kept this but decided to go with the EverTherm parka instead - I could have worn an XL with snug fit but decided to get XXL to have room for sweaters underneath. This is a beautifully constructed parka which fits TTS and is very figure flattering too. EB really should include a chest pocket in all of their parkas/jackets - its one reason I went with the EverTherm instead.
I love this coat! It is a beautiful color-dark berry. I first ordered the Large and it was quite snug. I then ordered the XLarge. I normally take a Large, but the XLarge fit great. I have gotten many compliments on it every time I have worn it! I love it and am very happy with my purchase!
I love this coat so much that I bought another one. My first coat is black and is three years old. I ordered my second one in the berry color. I am a 12- 14 and the XL fits well. The coat is warm and lightweight. I purchased both of these coats at the end of the season when they are on sale.
I was quite skeptical when the package arrived. I didn't realize how thin the jacket would be. We spend September through March in hockey rinks, and I assumed the jacket would not be warm enough. I was pleasantly surprised to find myself TOO warm on occasion. Only disappointment is that the jacket appears to be shedding because the down or feathers are migrating through the seam lines, which is quite noticeable due to the dark color I chose.
I was looking for a Plus size parka for my sister. I was concerned about the how the black colour looked online, there seemed to be a sheen to it. So I went to the store, to check before ordering. And no sheen, must have been the lighting/camera. Anyhow, I ordered, and gave to my sister this week as an early Christmas present for her travels. Looks good on her, very flattering for Plus sizes. I gave it a 4 for value, because it was 50% off, well worth it for that!
Ordered my usual size (petite medium) but it was a bit slim in the hips. So, i then ordered the petite large and it was a bit large, but probably would have kept it except the arms were HUGE!! They seemed really miss-sized and made me look like I was wearing dryer vents for arms. Sadly had to return both the Medium and Large because neither really worked in terms of size. What's with the giant arms?
I put this coat on and just went ahhh... I think for many people it would be great but for me it was a little restrictive for walking as my legs hit the bottom of the coat when walking. I could unzip it about 6 inches and it would work but then the cold air comes in. Also, the cuffs were a tad loose on my wrists so I felt as the the elastic got older they would side down over my hands. An adjustable cuff would fix that. I ordered a medium. 5'5" 135lbs
It took two attempts to get the right coat at Eddie Bauer. Once I got the right size, which by the way runs big. I am 5'3", and weigh 112 pounds. The extra small petite fits me well and has room for a sweater. I recommend this coat for wearing to the gym, taking your kids to school, and wearing in the car I need and cold days when you're doing errands. It is not a coat to wear in an urban environment on a day below 55°. you will freeze your buns off. However with all that said, I'm happy to find a coat that is a third of the price of a Northface or Patagonia, and see myself wearing this cute little jacket for several years to come. Hope this helps.
This parka fits nicely and looks good. It is a nice longer length and the sleeve length is good. I have longer arms and many coats just don't work for me. It is, however, not very warm even with a light layer underneath. I liked the look of the coat enough that I will put up with the lack of warmth. Another feature which I found odd, was the lack of sleeve cuffs. The sleeves just kind of end with a weird simple seam covering rather than any type of warmer cuff or way to secure the cuff against wind. I would not purchase another coat with this style cuff.
I have been loyal Eddie Bauer customer for years now (gold member level says that I really buy a lot from them). And I have never expected to receive second-hand item. The parka was heavily worn for a long time before they sent it to me, had big visual defects, big scratches spots, spots of oil, it was dirty at the collar and pockets, feathers were sticking out of the stitches, and it had a terrific stinky smell. I bought it as a present for my friend's birthday - so it was double disappointment to receive such "a gift" from a "trusted" brand. But the biggest disappointment was still to follow - it was Eddie Bauer customer service! I'm Eddie Bauer international customer, and since EB doesn't deliver directly to Ukraine - I'm using services of forwarding companies. Eddie Bauer has refused to cover any of my international shipping expenses (which might be higher than the cost of the parka itself!) and simply ignored my multiple requests to cover shipping costs and moral damage suffered. EB didn't even offer any coupon or certificate to somehow "say sorry", instead they behave like I should feel guilty for receiving defected goods. They didn't recognize their fault and didn't take any responsibility for this incident! I think EB has forgotten about their company's mission regarding complete satisfaction, and I believe that such behavior undermines America's "customer satisfaction guaranteed" principle as a whole! Don't trust Eddie Bauer!!! Their customer service only exists in slogans, but it has nothing to do with real life!!!
