I used this in my Hyundai Santa Fe for the first time. Worked good and blows cold air now. The hose could have been longer as my low port sits lower on the front of the car. Also the can started to leak Freon by the handle and hose but that was towards the end of charging. I should have spent a little more and got the one that has a leak sealer in it because if I have a leak I have to go back and buy another with leak sealer in it.
This was twenty dollars cheaper than another R-134a kit on the shelf that included a gasket conditioner (this one does not). I purchased this product for my wife's 12 year-old Dodge Caravan that just recently stopped blowing cold air. After recharging the A/C, the air blown from the unit went from 94F to 59F in just a few minutes (ambient was 85F). Wish the hose was longer, but for a solution that cost under $20, I ain't complaining.
I bought this and installed it in my wife's Hyundai Sonata. Only complaint is that the hose could be longer, but others have noted that. I followed the instructions, and it made her AC ice cold. Worked very well. Main tip to everyone is you need to wear gloves when you are taking off the top, removing the protective tab, and re-attaching the top. If you get a slight leak, it will "burn" (freeze) your bare hands. Wear gloves while installing it, too. There will be some leaks as you connect it. A good value for the money.
This was the first time I recharged my cars air conditioning system. This product was more affordable then other items on the shelf but still R-134A refrigerant. Some other products have additives intended to improve other aspects of the air-conditioning system. Anyway, the brass connector for the low pressure port was great, especially when I subsequently tried another product with a plastic connector. I also liked the trigger style dispenser, again much easier than another product I tried with a pushbutton type dispenser and another plastic connector to the discharge that didn't work very well. My only complaint is that the hose should be longer-that would make it much easier to turn and agitate the can during installation as the instructions say. Seems like an easy enough thing to improve, there is another product on the Walmart shelves that does have a longer hose but it costs about $35 versus $20.
Works well. Pay attention to how the system is used. YOUTUBE is your friend. Do some research on how to successfully recharge your cars a/c system. Works like a charm but if your car is a junker then don't blame the product if it fails to RECHARGE your jolopi. Good luck
I used the hose assembly for charging UV dye. The trigger kept leaking the dye during the charging process. Good price for Do-It-Yourself. Price was even better on Walmart.com.
The Charging hose started leaking after the second top off charge ,and ended up loosing what was left of the can over time. It also leaked from the trigger area onto my hand which is not a good thing. Very poor construction on this product stay away. Only good if you are going to use it to refill all at once.
Tried this with two units as it's the only combo that doesn't seal as well as fill. First time, worked OK for a few minutes, then started leaking from inside the handle when trigger pulled (gauge was still in the green. Got a refund at Walmart (where it is only $17 or so plus tax). Next one? The 2nd time I used it the coupling spring loader fell apart, so you have to keep pushing the coupling onto the car's AC fitting. It did still work though. But now have to return this one.... I guess this is why it's half the price of other combo units?
So , tap the can , go to hook up to low pressure port and the coupler falls apart, complete total waste of money.
Just read the reviews 20 mins ago and was skeptical of this product but went ahead and got it anyway. DO NOT BUY IT. The fitting broke before I even got it seated on the low pressure tube. It's absolute trash. Will be taking it back right now.
