This is what the Aeropress should come with stock out of the box! It works great. It makes an already good item, great. Cleanup is just as easy as ever.
This ups the game with the Aeropress! No more inversion method to get the brew I want. I now use it daily and putting my drip coffee maker away. This, a temperature controlled electric kettle and a frother and I'm a happy girl.
A friend told me about this ‘perfect pause' addition after I told her about the Aeropress. Love that I can now fully control the steep on my espresso or reg coffee.
Kind of spendy for what it does and its construction. Nice not having to use inverted method. Does its job
The new filter cap does a great job by not letting any coffee drop into the cup until its been properly brewed. You have to be gentle when creating the suction with the plunger though. I have yet to pull a shot, however the drip style brew is definitely better
I am a habitual inverted brewer, wanting to give my coffee grounds more exposure time. The Flow Control Filter Cap removes that need, while still accepting my (preferred) metal filter. That's the convenience piece. What I did not expect was the smooth, yet strong flavor! Magic?
After tasting my coffee made with the control flow filter versus the standard filter using the inverted method, I felt coffee made with control flow filter was smoother and bolder in flavor. Also I found it easier making coffee with the control flow filter, which doesn't drip when steeping, compared to the inverted method. The control flow filter gets my vote. No going back.
I love this idea and how it has been executed. It gives me complete control over steep time or any other variable I want to introduce as I experiment. Goodbye to the risks inherent in the inversion technique....while I never had a spill, I came close. Great idea that makes a real difference.
I'm still playing with brewing options: metal filter, paper filter, full cup brew, concentrate brew, So far so good. I like the fact I can prepare one serving French press style since I'm only coffee drinker in family..I also like my brew hot and fresh..it's easy and quick for the second brew.
Who would have thought that I would get excited over just a cap, but it truly does make a difference in the brewing process. I think if you have even just the slightest appreciation for coffee, brewing, and tasting, you will definitely enjoy using the cap for a different kind of brewing experience.
