It's a perfect gift for younger children wanting an mp3. I purchased it for my niece for Christmas and she loves it. The sound output is really good and the charging lasts for a few hours.

My toddler has been lip singing all day since it arrived. It was hooked up to her microphone/karaoke machine. Now she's going to sleep with it beside her. It's a very nice gift and age appropriate for kids.

Not Worth It

HarmonyD January 7, 2023

First, I want to say this is the CUTEST MP3 player I have ever seen! I got the pink cat-themed one, and it is so adorable! It has cat ears and cat illustrations on it. It has a nice-sized screen that is easy to see. The right side has the on/off button and volume buttons. The MP3 player came almost fully charged when it arrived, so I was able to use it immediately. To turn it on and off, you hold down the on/off button for a few seconds. When you turn it off, the screen will do a countup (not countdown) to 3. Hold it the entire time for it to go off. If you're successful, the player will tell you "Goodbye" in a colorful font. The screen is full color with bright, happy kitty illustrations. The player has a screen saver, which is a happy ocean scene with a shark, starfish, and other aquatic creatures. To get out of the screen saver, you have to press the on/off button. I don't know if there was a way to change that in the settings. I tried the recording feature first. It is surprisingly decent. I was surprised that the player had a built-in speaker, and my voice came out clear. The recording features are sophisticated. You can change the recording format (WAV or MP3) and set the bitrate. You can also change it to record from its built-in microphone or a microphone that is attached with a cable, such as headphones. The games are not great. They have Boxman, Tetrix (just like Tetris), and Snake. Graphics are bad quality, so I can't see them holding a child's interest very long. When you plug the MP3 player in your computer to transfer songs, it will also charge the player, which is excellent. It also uses a USB-C, which is also excellent since most of my extra cables are that type anyway. The speaker on the player itself is a good volume. It's not great quality, but it'll keep a kid entertained. There is no bass whatsoever. I think it'd better if the speaker was on the bottom, though. It's on the back, so when you place the player down, the sound gets muffled. You basically have to set it on its face to get optimal sound. With headphones, it's better. I realized it has an equalizer, so I messed with that a little, and it improved sound quality some. Overall, don't expect Bose quality, though. Your typical child is not an audiophile, so I doubt they will care. This MP3 player comes packed with a lot of features, some of which seem a bit mature, like a pedometer and weight tracking. There's an eBook feature and sleep music. And it has Bluetooth capabilities? It honestly does way too much, which makes me wonder who the target audience is. Based on looking at it, I would think this would be appropriate for a 5-year-old, but with all the features, it's like it wants to be a smartphone. I don't think a young child could properly navigate or utilize all these features. I don't think they would be able to use it independently for some of the more advanced offerings. Also, who uses an MP3 player anymore? I think a cheap smartphone would be a better option.

Died in <1 hour of use, & didn't work well before

PaleFemale December 13, 2023

I was so looking forward to this device for my kids, but ended up disappointed. It can't connect to my phone's Bluetooth because my phone's version is 5.3, and this mp3 player doesn't support anything over a 2.1. I don't know anyone who even owns any devices that old. Was it put on there just so they could say it was Bluetooth capable? The device shows there is an option to loop the sounds when using white noise, but what it means is that it'll rotate through all the sounds, not loop through the specific one you chose. It was pretty jarring to wake up to a different sound. I tried out the basic games that are on it - a block pushing game, Tetris, and Snake. It's like the games you used to play on your graphing calculator with even more basic controls. They're fine, though I wish there weren't games on a device for kids. Then I tried to load things onto the device to test out the music, video, or audiobook features, but unfortunately I can't tell you anything about them. My computer wouldn't recognize the device, and in the meantime the device just gave up the ghost. It wouldn't turn on anymore, and charging it didn't bring up the charging symbol. I couldn't recommend this product less.
