The spreader did a good job I spread fertilizer then grass seed. Tried some lime but it was to powdery for the spreader. All in all I am very satisfied. John
All in all its a good choice for a broadcast spreader. quality is abought 80%. a couple of nuts and bolts were a bit short. I called the company and thay were really super great and very helpful. sent out parts that were short like right now.. I would recommend it for sure..
instructions could have had some written explanations besides the vague pictures although they were complete after getting everything together. I did miss a step and had to take apart a couple of things to correct. Once everything was together it works good had an extra nut that I could not see where it belonged.
If you pay strict attention you will have no problem assembling this machine. It took me about 45 minutes. I'll be trying it out today to get a fifth star. So if don't read another review from FankO, you'll know it got its fifth star.
The overall satisfaction should be 4.8, at no fault of Walmart. It rate it lower then a 5 because a wheel was broken, and I'm awaiting a replacement from the manufacturer.
The spreader has a large capacity and works great. Only two downsides one is the handle is a little loose even after tightening everything down. The second is it spreads 360 degrees, although that's how Brinly and Earthway are also.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened the box, I was excited. The wheels are the first thing you will see. They were sturdy, beefy and and I got excited. I thought I got something that would last many years. Then, I put the spreader together, after some effort. The directions were adequate but not clear (Most steps were pictured and explained, however, their are a few places that were left for assumptions) The handle assembly is not tight and rattles. The handle bars are thin tube metal with plastic plugs and feel cheap. The hopper is good thick plastic and will hold all you want to carry. I think the whole unit will hold all you want dump into that hopper. Here is the problem......... You can not control the amount of product running through the pass door. The control lever is completely inadequate. This part of the build was a joke. You can not shut off the pass door. With the vibration of the machine, the more the pass door will open. No control over how much it opens. Therefore, you cannot control how much chemical you are spreading over your lawn. At the end the front yard of my postage stamp lawn, I was trying to turn off the flow of the spreader, but I couldn't I ended up burning a whole in my lawn. My intention is to disassemble this spreader and keep the wheels and throw the rest in the trash.
Everything with this spreader. Is well made exept for the adjustable chute handle and mechanism. What a terrible design ! I have a spreader brand new and it does not work at all. I have to manually reach under the spreader to open and close the chute. I wasted a ton of fertizer and made a big mess . I am a very dissapointed customer !
Screws do not tighten the individual pieces especially the bar that connects the handle. Handle is too low and the load is unbalanced. Does not push well over uneven ground. The only way to get product (seed, fertilizer, lime, etc) is to have the hatch open all the way. My order came missing a few parts, inconvenient for the price. There is no shield to protect your shoes from getting filled with whatever you're broadcasting. I think 1 is available as an accessory, inconvenient for the price.
product is cheaply made. this is a replacement from another agri-fab spreader and it is no where near the same quality. I would like to return it at this point. Shut offs leak poor quality material. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
