This product is pretty descent, it is sturdy. It is great for smaller yards. I used it for the first time after I received the product, it worked pretty good. Although since we have not had much rain this year and the ground has been dry, it did not penetrate the dirt as well as I hoping, even though I placed a brick on top of the aerator to put more weight on it. Although I think it would work better if the ground was had a greater deal of moisture.
Great value for this product, great for smaller yards without having to dish out bigger bucks or rental expense.
We purchased this item was highly recommended to us. My husband used it and it work great. He was very pleased and happy with this product highly recommend it!
Great product easy to put together and use
Difficult to find a push roller aerator that isn't powered which is totally unnecessary. It was what I was looking for.
it's relatively flimsy, but with a couple of cinderblocks on top it does the job. I did it in a pull - push fashion, making sure the spikes penetrate the dirt well. It's not a walk in the park, it takes some muscle and some effort.
I JUST PUT MINE TOGETHER A FEW DAYS AGO AND HAVE NOT HAD A REAL CHANCE TO PLAY IN THE YARD BUT I'VE PUSHED IT AROUND IN A SMALL AERA TO GET A FEEL.....NOW THE DOWN SIDE TO ME IS THAT IT'S SMALLER THAN I EXPECTED.... I'M 5'9" AND IT FELT LIKE I WAS USING MY GRANDCHILDS TOY...LOL
I bought this aerator and was disappointed. It was very hard to push over the lawn. Pulling the aerator was easier but didn't leave deep scoring in the lawn. Pushing left deep scoring in the lawn but was very difficult. I would not of bought it, if I new how difficult it was to push.
If your yard is loose allready, this would work fine!!! It needs about 50 lbs. of weight on it to pierce packed soil and then you have to run it over more than once. It is a hard job for sure. For just a small spot this aerator will work but not for a yard. I will say noone will use this for a complete yard. A whole lot of work with minimum results. Unsatisfied with this product.
The aerator took about an hour to put together, due to having to tighten several nuts/bolts that required a ratchet/wrench combo approach. Then, after less than a minute of use on of the pins literally fell from one side, which allows the entire spike section to fall apart and renders it useless. My husband had to fix it with a new pin, and I haven't used it again to see if it will have any other problems. I would recommend you save yourself the trouble and rent one from a building supply store. I thought I would invest in an aerator so I didn't have to rent one every year, not happy I wasted $50.
