The mpk mini play piano is a great tool for beginners wanting to learn how to play the piano it includes 128 built in sound features that comes with letting you change the sound that you can make by clicking the tiles and another 10 on the drum setting the piano can turn the octaves lower or higher and a arpeggiator so you can distort the sound it can be used with 3 aa batteries or by being connected to it's music software the piano also includes its own software for download to adjust settings to the piano and apply the changes and 8 unique pads that include sounds of drums and can be used to make different drum sounds and put your favorite built in sounds in a shortcut. Great product and fun to use! Highly recommend it.

Wow. This keyboard is amazing. It's a bit smaller than other keyboards I seen that can do all the same things but I like small. It fits perfectly on your lap. It works with batteries or you can plug it in with a USB cord that it comes with. It also connects to my computer studio system. There's so many features to this keyboard I haven't even figured them all out yet. I do know it comes with 128 different sounds on the keyboard including piano, drums, applause, choir, and all the instruments you can think of clarinet, french horn, trumpet ect. It has a drum pad a beat maker all kinds of stuff you can do with this. The only negative thing I would say about it is that the volume was very low not sure if that was because I was using a USB cord instead of batteries don't know if it charges but I will find out soon.

This little keyboard is packed with tons of great options and sounds. It has drum pads and over 100 different sound effects. The volume get loud and still has great quality. My boys both love this to travel with and play in their rooms quietly. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable all in one keyboard grownup or youth musician!!! This is quality and well made.

Keep in mind that I am not at all musical, but got this as a gift for my teen son. Sounds are varied, clear, and great quality. The compact size PERFECT for small spaces and makes it very portable. Sturdily constructed. Great value! He seems to have figured out the software and how to use the instrument pretty quickly without any help from the parents. My son is having so much fun creating music and plays on it daily! 100% would recommend

I honestly didn't know wheat this was when I bought it. It was on my nephews wish list. Gave it to him for his birthday and he absolutely loved it! He was trying to show me some of the features and it looks like it can do a lot. It's not just a keyboard but a drum set iPhone. There seem to be a huge amount he could do with this!

This AKAI PROFESSIONAL MPK Mini Play keyboard works great for my 17 year old daughter who loves music and creating her own beats. It's seems to be very well made for the price. It's small and compact, which makes it very portable, easy to put into a backpack or tote etc. The speaker is not very loud, but it works quite well with headphones or and amp. (Speaker, is the only reason, I rated this as a four star vs. 5 star rating). It runs on 3 AA batteries or the included USB cord. There are instructions but they seem to be lacking, but we just watched YouTube tutorial videos, and found that quite helpful. It has 128 sounds and 10 drum kits. Has an OLED display for easy sound browsing and so many more options. It does have included software, but my daughter pretty much uses it with Garage Band with her iPad. All in all, I've been impressed with what all my daughter has done with this midi keyboard. It does way more then I expected.

This keyboard is small but definitely mighty. There is a lot going on---so much so it is over my head. This would be ideal for beginners or more experienced musicians. There is an OLED display for easy browsing and also a headphone jack. There are128 sounds and 10 drum kits. I am having trouble getting it to run on batteries--they keep popping out and even if I quickly put the cover back on it will not come on. I have no problem with the USB. It also doesn't seem very loud, even when I turn the volume all the way up. That could be my inexperience though.

I really wish I could post a video instead of just pictures for this review so you know what I'm talking about better. My first thought was how nifty it looks! It's compact so it can travel very easily which is perfect since it can be plugged into a computer OR run on batteries so you can take it with you and plug headphones into it. The drum pads are also very responsive and so soft, you can favorite sounds and then assign them to the different drum pads for ease of use. The one knob at the upper right side is used to cycle through the sound bank and there is a small led thing letting you know which sound you are on, I wish it had a bigger screen area so you could see more than just one sound at a time. Until you memorize the list it's kind of like scrolling in the dark to find the sound you want. The sounds are also your normal average keyboard sounds, nothing really stood out as super unique to me and you cannot import your own sounds into it either. The speaker could also be better, it's not very loud even at full volume and sounds a little cheap. You also can't make loops. So it's nice to start out, it does have a sound bank built in but if you want something that is more for music production I would go for the AKAI MPK mini instead of this mini play.

Akai Professional MPK mini play is something I got for my 11 years old daughter to play and learn the piano and have fun with drum pads. This product is small like a chromebook but have some cool features to make sounds/beats. It is powered by 3 x AA batteries not provided or with the included USB cable. It has a build in speaker but the sound is not great even at the max. It has 25 piano keys and 8 drum pads. My daughter like the piano keys because it can make 128 different sound instruments. It has multiple dial switches to adjust to the sound you prefer. You can play piano and drums at the same time. You have multiple buttons on the left to adjust the pitch of your piano keys. You have the red toggle stick which does the same. This product also comes with a few free software to download but it took me forever to download them and then most of them require more sign ups and codes, then the MPC software had no sound or audio or it was not compatible with my Window processor. We gave up on using the softwares, my daughter rather just play with it on batteries and headphones because the sound was better with it. I wish it could connect to smartphones to be truly portable and record beats. I definitely think it is more for someone that knows a little more about music or creating beats because my daughter didn't know what most features was for except the dial to change into different instruments.

The keyboard I grew up with in the 90s had a stand and was about 5 feet long. It has AC power you plugged into the wall and it had constant power. The volume knob turned out up loud enough you could hear it across the house. This product, however, has none of these things. If you just put batteries in it you can barely hear it. If you connect it to your laptop the volume can supposedly be raised but you have to mess with some sort of setting and I couldn't figure it out. I don't even understand what MIDI is, let alone how to use it. If you're a professional with this stuff, maybe this could be of use to you, but for your average person just wanting to mess around and make some silly tunes and sick beats, this is not for you.
