This is our 3rd pair of these in the past 10 years. We use them for a music class our kids take. They are comfortable to wear and the sound is very clear.
For the money, you can't find anything better. I currently have 5 headsets, and worn out 9 others.
I like the audio quality and it sits on my head comfortably. Headphones ive used in the past leave me with a sore scalp when in use for a few hours but not these. Good for Mastering. Low side is lacking a wee bit. Otherwise fantastic.
amazing headphones! good quality! long cable! just amazing! recommended.
comfortable headband, not at all tight on my head, and sounds great for the price.
They fit well and sound good however there is too much noise bleed from outside the headphones. I heard a cell phone alarm from the next room in a coat pocket. They do not cancel any outside noise
They may not have been expensive, but what good is it if they don't have bass? I might not know much about this; I'm an amateur, making music as a hobby in Ableton Live, and I've only recently been using these headphones. In the final mix, I boost the bass because there's not enough of it with the reference K72 headphones, and what's the result? The music mixed this way sounds terrible on another audio source because there's way too much bass, dominating the entire project. It's a trap... This is a serious problem for me; I'm not happy with these headphones. They're basically useless.
I have had these headphones for 2 and a half years, and they've only just broke. great sound quality and great overall while they were new. some things weren't built to last i guess
These AKG K72 headphones are not good audio quality. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were listening to when they gave positive reviews. I wish I had done more research on these outside of the glowing reviews on the Walmart site. Yes they are inexpensive at about $28, and online Soundguys have tested and show that the audio is very uneven across the frequency range. Basically, these K72's make audio sound 'muddy'. I have compared with my old Sony MDR-7506 and my Audio Technica ATH-M35. Huge difference in quality compared to these K72's. Listening to audio on the computer, the audio sounds like there is too much low midrange and very little in the high midrange and high. AKG failed here in my opinion. My Sony MDR-7506's I use with my Kurzweil piano and all the nice 'sparkle' of the piano tones that I hear on my Sony's are completely muffled and gone on the AKG K72's. I wish I could return these, I had bought them and was busy with work, finally got them out of the box just over 30 days after buying from Walmart.
It is a terrible seller. Almost a month since I made the purchase and it hasn't arrived yet. I can't cancel it dont know my item is where. Terrible.
