I've been trying to look for this shampoo for some time now but they were always out of stock!
I use this everyday coconut shampoo and conditioner, and continue to buy it. I am Caucasian with shoulder length fine textured high density/thick head of hair, lots of hair on my head but the hair itself is not thick. Anyhow, I use this shampoo, one pump most days, two pumps if extra oily and the bottle last me several months. So I rate it a high value. For a shampoo without additives, and the fewest ingredients almost possible, I feel it is a great deal. For me, it lathers well, again, if I'm really sweaty or oily I need a second pump to get a full lather, but usually get full lather with one pump. If you are used to using regular shampoo with sulfate a and conditioners with waxy smoother coatings you may need an adjustment period while your scalp recalibrates oil production to account for not having those drying and coating effects anymore. It took me a couple weeks for my hair to "get used" to these new products, and my hair is not as smooth as with the super chemically products, but it is not un- smooth enough to bother me, looks good to me, and is well worth not having bunch of bad stuff in my products. I do use a leave in conditioner also from Swanson for brush-ability, Acure Moroccan Argan Oil Leave In Conditioner. My four year old daughter likes to mix the three (EDC shampoo, conditioner and body wash) together During baths to make her special "potion" and I feel safe using this with her.
If you are trying to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals but still want to look your best & feel clean, this shampoo is truly "good stuff". It lathers great, leaves my 65 year old long grey braid "squeaky" clean, and smells just fine. If you like your "stuff" heavily perfumed, OK, this is not for you. Otherwise, try it, maybe give your hair a chance to get used to it. It's summer, I use it "plain" without a crème rinse and I'm ordering my second bottle. It's a BIG bottle, a great value, if they keep the formula "pure" I'm long term.
I just bought this product and i love it. I gave it 4 stars because for a natural product it lathers very well. In addition many times I use shampoo and it dries my wavy hair this did the exact opposite it brought moisture to my hair and i had smooth waves and the texture of my hair was transformed after just one wash. I have to say that I am very happy with the product . this product doesn't leave your hair with a ginger or coconut smell. but i like that because I know its natural .
I have dry grey hair and wash it every other day. This shampoo works well enough to keep using. You can't beat the simple ingredient list and the price. I also use it as a face wash and body wash in the shower so I now buy this one product instead of three separate ones! If they added argan oil to this it would be a five leaf product for sure. I will add tea tree oil for the winter months and possibly my own argan oil.
Product is great but pump was broken so product leaked inside the package, didn't lose a lot but it was still a mess. Would appreciate a new pump.
I do love the smell of this shampoo, but I don't think it's hydrating at all like it says. I have wavy hair that has gotten a little dry (I'm in my mid 30's) and this seems to do nothing. I had been no-pooing with baking soda and apple cider vinegar rinse, but wanted to try something new. This does work better when you use the conditioner with it. I don't think I'll buy again, too bad because I think the smell is nice and light.
when you order something that says coconut you would think it would smell like coconut, not this shampoo it smells bad and I could not get the pump to work.
Bottle arrived leaking inside the shrink wrap. the bottle cap was leaking. I normally buy this shampoo at Wegman's, but they only carry the smaller bottles now, which are expensive. It seemed more cost efficient to buy the bigger bottle online. walmart.com was going to force me to ship back the leaking bottle and wait three weeks for a refund. However, when I contacted a walmart.com agent through chat, he was able to process a refund without my having to ship it back. I will have to discard the product, as it was leaking. Next time, I will buy it at Wegman's. Walmart does not carry this product in store.
Smells strongly like ammonia. I used it and loved the lather but it caused me to smell weird and when i smelled the bottle it smelled like ammonia.
