ALEKO 20 x 10 ft Sand Motorized Retractable Patio Awning

Came in 2 serperate deliveries. Got nervous when only the fabric was delivered but the next day the motor and poles showed up. I sure I just missed something in the listing that states that. I don't always read everything before ordering. The shipping was quick and the awning looks very nice

Con I hired someone to install it for me and he said that he had to review an online video of a competing product to be able to install it. Adjusting it to be firm and deploy and retract well to quite some time. It makes clunking sounds when deploying and retracting. Pro It looks great. It blends in with the house really well. It makes the deck useful through the hot part of the day. It provides great shade. It is really quite sturdy. It holds up well in brisk wind. I retract it when it picks up.

Manual is not clear enough but I found an online video that helped. Still had questions and took me some time to put it together the right way.

Product quality was good, instructions are hard to follow and lack important details. I had to watch several videos to figure it out. And still was very frustrated with the install.

20x10 is too big for the low quality material it is made from. Instructions are very vague, once assembled and mounted the unit likes to twist at its extended position, causing the awning to be incredibly low even after adjustment. When retracting the fabric slides off the end of the retaining bar, causing it to roll up improperly. Once retracted the support arms are not seated properly and hang down below the profile of the unit.

The order was late, the front rail was damaged and the directions are aweful. I watched the video on Youtude atleast 10 times to try and see why the motor wouldn't configure properly when moved to the left side buy but it didn't expain the problem. So I called customer service and talked to Gregory. He asked me to send pictures and assured me he would call back that day, I told him I had everything laid out and couldn't wait 24 hours for an answer. Needless to say I never heard back from them, going on 2 days now.

came in two separate boxes. the small box was the tarp only. the big item box had this broken with actual holes into the metal long tube. a hassle to return it because Walmart only issued one label for return so I had to cram the tarp into the big box at fedex

It does not move correctly it will not open and now it's stuck

There isn't enough pitch adjustment the awning dips down to low, directions are not the best and received damaged parts although the box seemed undamaged

I feel like this company needs to do better warning customers about this product being on a spring action and when you open it the metal will fly backwards. Needs big bold letters on box and actual product. My 4 year old daughter got hit in the head and arm and was taken to the E.R. she ended up being ok with a big knot on her head. The awning hasn't been put up yet but just off that I'm giving it a one star. I'd give it zero if I could
