We bought two water barrels which was a good thing because they fill up quick in a good rain. They look great, more like a fountain than a water barrel. Charcoal color is rather a medium and not the expected dark grey. We bought the pumps for both barrels to use them with a hose; however, the pressure is just sufficient but for sure not great. If you use the fountain option for your hose, then the plastic filter screen top bends under the weight of the hose - two more screws to pin it down helps or drilling a separate exit but then it can not be used as fountain. Note that when you only get the barrels and the pumps (and not the fountain kit which includes the river stones), you will need to drill/ cut some more holes (plastic filter screen for fountain, exit for pump power cable and water overflow) and buy some more parts (non-kink hose for inside the barrel if you want to keep the included hose for non-pump water access on the outside, fittings for the pump, river stones). Overall, I love it and would buy it again.
It's a nice-looking barrel and easily assembled. The price is fair also.
Beautiful rain barrels, looks like it's made of cement or stone but it's very light plastic! Only downside is having to empty them all the time, it's been very rainy the past few weeks so it seems like a chore but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Hose and spigot are plastic but seem durable. I bought some nice small river rocks to cover the plastic screen
It exactly fits the space I was looking to fill. Right color and size. I am going to add a plant on top.
It holds a lot of water and works well but it doesn't look like the photo. Up close It looks like cheap plastic, you can see where the plastic seams meet and the colour is light blue-ish gray, not charcoal.
No spigot and need additional piece to really be effective
One of the main reasons I bought this rain barrel was because the outlet fitting, hose holder %26 hose were all on the right side of the container. At least that's how it was advertised %26 how the pictures portrayed it to be. The way my patio is designed, I needed the outlet, holder %26 hose on the right side of the barrel. The rain barrel comes in, the hole for the hose holder is on the right side (correct) but the outlet fitting is on the left side (incorrect). Totally opposite of the pictures %26 how it is advertised. In fact the hose won't reach the holder if it's screwed onto this left side outlet. Somebody got their left %26 right hands mixed up at the factory. I can't believe the barrel left the manufacturer this way. Now I have to jerry rig this so I have an outlet on right side…..or send it back which is always problematic. Disappointed in Texas.
It looks nice and functions well until you try to use the spout to empty it through the hose. The first time my husband attempted to attach the house to the spout, it broke off the barrel.
These come with 2 large plastic pieces sticking out on one side (Not pictured in ad photos) According to the slip inside, they are to help if you want to connect one to another. (Something not shown in the photo nor supplies provided for.) If you don't want to do connect two together, you'll have to cut them off and figure a way to seal the holes because there's no supplies for that.
Just received and put together my rain barrel. Looks nice but leaks terribly at the bottom outlet where the manufacturer installed the connector. It's unusable. Algreen is sending me a "kit" to try to fix it. Will see. Very disappointing and don't even know if the "fix" will work.
